Day Has Come

Part Four

"Mom what do you know about the girl living with Grandfather." Taylor asked. "Taylor doen't you see I'm busy. So busy I haven't met her yet, only talked to her. Dad thinks the world of her, said she reminded him of me when I was her age. Why?" Diana asked on the move. "I wondered if you knew what she looked like?" Taylor asked. "Honey call your Grandfather, he can tell you, I think he said she looked like me to so I would say she's a blue eyed blonde. Honey just call him." she answered headed to take the girls to dance lessons. As she dropped them off, she decided she would make time to meet her father's helper. "Morning Daddy." she called entering the house. "Diana, dear what brings you here? Not that I'm not thrilled, I know how busy you are?" Grampa said. "I came to meet the mysterious Jessy. The spitfire that reminds you of me." Diana said. "Come to the kitchen she just baked cookies. She accidentally broke the cookie jar and has headed out to replace, she felt so bad. I said we could glue it. But she put on her blades and is headed to find a replacement. I agreed to get her to stop crying. Remind you of anyone young lady." he said kissing the top of her head. "Daddy are you saying I used tears to get my way." Diana asked. "Damn straight. As she says. You probably still do. I'll have to as Walker." he laughed. "So you really like her?" she asked. "I feel twenty years younger since she moved in. We've been fishing, go for walks, Did you notice the flower beds? Have you seen the house this spotless since your mother... She would like her Diana, she would just love her." he said with loneliness in voice. "I miss her too Daddy." she said tears filling her eyes and smile on her face remember the good times. They remembered the good times, eating cookies and drinking milk waiting for Jessy to return. "Hello" he said answering the phone. "Grampa I found it. Exactly like it." Jessy excitedly said. "Jessy you didn't have to you know that child." he said. "I know Grampa but I feel so much better now that I found it. But. Grampa I'm all the way downtown and my feet hurt. Could you, would you please come get me?" Jessy begged. "You bladed all the way downtown. Jessy that's over eight miles. Girl what am I going to do with you. I'll be done to pick you up. Don't you dare skate home. I'm leaving now. What store?" he asked. "The ice cream parlor." Jessy said. "Ice Cream Parlor?" he questioned. "Yeah Grampa, right next door to the antique store where I found your cookie jar. I'll treat." she offered. "You're on girl." he said laughing. "Daddy she puts a twinkle in your eye I haven't seen in years. You love life again." Diana said, adding, "I wish I could go meet her but I have to pick up the girls from dance lessons. Tell her I love her for putting that twinkle back in your eye and we'll get together soon somehow." Diana said and the two headed out the driveway and down the street, beeping and waving when they finally turned in opposite directions. "Grampa" Jessy screamed running to the car to show him the cookie jar. "Perfect isn't" she beamed. "Yes Jessy it is an exact copy. I'm glad you're happy again, but I wasn't angry child you have to know that." he said. "I know Grampa I found this so I would feel better. I'm gonna fix the other one and put it up so I remember always, that even though I broke it, you still love me." Jessy said. "I do still love you, but I'd love you more if you bought me that ice cream you promised." he teased and the two made their way into the ice cream parlor and had sundaes. "Look isn't that Grandfathers car there on the other side of the street. Yeah that's his. I wonder where he is. Knowing her, he's probably taking her for ice cream." Zac complained. "Man Zac this is eating you up. I've never seen you this way." Isaac said. "There's a parking spot. Let's go see if it's Grandad." Taylor said and Isaac pulled in and they started walking the three blocks back to his car. "Why don't we get one for Chele, I can run it down the block to her. Be right back Grampa." Jessy said kissing his cheek, getting Chele a chocolate double dip in a cup to go and Jessy headed out the door and ran to the Chamber of Commerce office at the end of the block. "That's Grampa's car all right. There's blue bag just like yours in the back, Zac. Must be hers has hair ribbons on it, a Moe card, key chain, I.D. Hey look she wrote on it. Hanson rocks my world. She's a fan and working for Grandad, I don't like this." Taylor said and they headed in the Ice Cream Parlor. "Hey Grandad. Hey Grandfather. Hey." the three greeted him. "Boys how are you. Isaac you're looking good, how was college this semester? Zac was so blue? What's up? Somethings on your minds?" Grampa asked. "Does this girl living with you know us? I mean that you're Grandfather to Hanson?" Taylor asked. "No boys, I made sure that it was never mentioned. Why?" he asked. "Oh I just hoped that one of our fans, wouldn't use you to get to us? I noticed on her bag she has a lot of Hanson stuff." Taylor answered. "No boys she isn't after you.." he was interrupted and told of a telephone call. "Grampa please say I can. Chele has to go to the University and deliver somethings for one of her bosses and it's okay if I go with her. Would you mind? It shouldn't take that long and she get to go home early if she does him this favor. Please?" Jessy pleaded causing him to laugh. "Look at him. I haven't seen him laugh like that since before grandmother died." Isaac said. "Looks happy doesn't he?" Zac said. "He's talking to her, she makes him happy and she hates me." he finished and got up and left heading back to the van. "Man he's down. Tay we've got to do something." Isaac said. "Grandad's never let us down before. Zac had made it back to the van and had almost convinced himself that he was being ridiculous "How could it be the same girl, the girl of his dream was out there somewhere other than his Grandfather's house." he told himself as the white car drove by with her in the passenger seat. "Oh God what is she doing down here. Wait then she can't be because Grandfather's is with him, but she wasn't." he said to himself look back the three blocks to see if he could see a fourth person outside, but all he saw was his two brother and his Grandfather standing in front. "Please come out the door" he prayed to himself. "No Grandfather don't leave without her that means." Zac said shaking his head no, fighting the tears back. "Bad news Zac." Taylor said. "She's the same, the girl of my dreams is Grandfather's helper, the one who hates me. Why did I have to take it out on her that day. She'll never forgive me." Zac said burying his face in his hands. "How'd you know." Taylor asked. "She just drove by with her sister. She more beautiful in the day light. So's yours. She looked like a model." Zac said. They pulled out and headed home, after Zac said no to everything. At home he headed directly to his room , "What's wrong with him?" Walker asked. "Go talk to him Dad, he's has a major chick problem. To impossible for me to figure out." Isaac said. "I still say he should talk to Grandad, just tell him what he's done. Grandad can figure it out." Taylor said. "Oh Taylor, I went to meet the mysterious girl, never got to but she must be wonderful because she makes my father happy, happier than I've seen him in years. So she okay in my book." Diana said. "Oh great just what Zac needs." Taylor shrugged. "What does that mean?" Diana asked. "I'll keep and eye on things, you go with Dad and see if you can help Zac figure a way out of this mess." Taylor pleaded. "What's wrong?" Diana asked. "It's just a mess. I know he didn't mean it, he was still angry over Ike's decision is all and instead of taking it out on Ike, he sort of, oh he took it out on Grandad helper. Big Time, the were suppose to meet last night she wants to whoop his ass because he's been such a snot. And boy has he. I heard him last night and he dumped on her big time but she can hold her own. She had him in tears by the time she was done with him on the phone. But Mom we met these girls the night they came to town and the first time he saw her, he convinced himself she was the one for him, the only one and now she hates him." Taylor said so glad to get it off his chest. "Oh my god how did this get so blown out of proportions?" Diana asked. "Wow talk about an explosive situation. Your father will never forgive Zac, I just know he wont. If he feels for this little girl like you say and Zac hurts her. Poor Zac." Walker said. "There has to be a way." Diana said. "Right now we have to keep them apart." Walker said. "More than that dad, she doesn't know he's Hanson's grandfather and she's a fan, she's probably in the data base." Taylor said and Isaac headed to the office sitting at the computer and pulled up Michigan Jessicas going as Jessy, "This is her right here I bet" Isaac said. "Yep that's her, I remember the City from the data sheet on her, the church sent to Daddy." Diana said. "It's a good thing she wasn't home earlier, I'm sure she knows me." she sighed. "She makes my father happy and I have to hide from her. It's a good thing she can't come to dinner on Sunday after all. Maybe Daddy can help us. Walker anything?" she pleaded. "Sorry girl, this is Big Time as Taylor said." Walker said hugging her and holding her tight. "Everything will work out. Just have faith. We'll just pray." he said kissing the top of her head. "Well I'm going to see Zac. He has to apologize. Over and over and over. Until she finally forgives him. Flowers help, send her some daisies. I'm sorry for my rudeness or something like that." Walker said and Isaac said he'd order them and headed to the office. "Hey Isaac, how about,"Forgive me for being so rude, Grampa's Jerky Grandson" Taylor said and started laughing.
