Day Has Come

Part Thirty-eight

Jessy was up with the sun and headed to take a shower. She dried her hair and returned to dress, laying out her clothes for her doctor appointment, before heading downstairs. "Hello house, I missed you." Jessy whispered on her ride down the bannister. "So that's how you keep it so shiny?" Grampa laughed. "Oh Grampa, you caught me. Morning Grampa, it's nice to be home." Jessy smiled hugging him, adding, "What are you doing up this early?" "You spoiled me yesterday, sleeping the whole day away. Just couldn't sleep so I decided to surf the net." Grampa explained. "I'll get us some breakfast, want anything special?" Jessy asked. "How about waffles?" Grampa asked. "Ummm I like waffles." Jessy said heading to the kitchen pulling out the waffle iron, placing it on the kitchen counter and heating it up. She started a pot of coffee and mixed the batter. She filled the waffle iron with batter and closed it, pulling the pint of blueberries from the fridge and washing them. She sprinkled the waffle with powdered sugar, placed on the blueberries and fixed the next waffle as it finished. "Come on Grampa, time to eat." Jessy called. "Coming Princess Jessy." he answered and they sat and ate talking about their upcoming trip to New York City and the concert. "Grampa don't forget Mandy comes into town today, she'll be spending the nigh with us. You'll have a house full of girls tonight." Jessy said. "And boys if I know my grandsons." Grampa teased making her blush. "Don't for get I have to leave at ten this morning for my doctor appointment. Mommy decided she wanted to come so they're going to pick me up so I don't have to take Chele to work. I better wake the Princess Chele, you've had fair warning." Jessy teased. "Oh she's not that bad. I think I'll go take a shower." Grampa said leaving the room. "Bwak Bwak Bwak" Jessy imitated a chicken and they both laughed. She made her way upstairs to hear her alarm blaring but no movement. "God Chele wake the dead. Come on girl, time to rise and shine. Move it." Jessy said bouncing on the bed. "Jessy stop bouncing. Stop. I'm up already. No wonder I'm so grumpy." Chele said. "Oh right, Princess Troll." Jessy said heading to the door. "Hey Chele I made waffles for Grampa and me, would you like one with fresh blueberries?" Jessy asked. "Do I have time, it sounds great." Chele said. "If you hussle, wear my sundress with the matching jacket that save time dressing, it's laying on my bed. I'll go get it made. Hussle I said." Jessy ordered as she made her way down the stairs. "It's safe to come out Grampa." she hollered passing his room. "She gone already?" Grampa said. "No but she hyped about a waffle so she's in a good mood and I'm letting her wear my new dress." Jessy said. "Oh she must be in a good mood. Boy that waffle was good." Grampa said. "I have enough batter for one more, do you think you could eat it if I made it." Jessy asked. "I could have breakfast with my Princess Chele." Grampa said. "Great she'd love that. I think she's jealous of all the time we have together, maybe I'll find something to keep me out of the way and you two can be alone." Jessy said pouring batter for Grampa's waffle and fixing Chele's and placing it in the warm oven to keep it warm. She fixed the other waffle and pulled out Chele's and placed them on the table, pouring coffee. "I'll get her." Jessy said making her way up the stairs meeting her on her way down. "Look great. Grampa's up for breakfast, keep him company for me I have to find something. See you after work." Jessy said making it to her room searching for something else to wear to the doctor's office. "Yuck" she said looking in her closet and headed to Chele's not finding what she was looking for. "Geez Sis. Remind why you wanted a sister." she laughed looking at her things hanging finding the outfit she wanted returning to place it on her bed as she heard Chele heading to work. Jessy did morning chores while Grampa e-mailed the family then Gramma. "I'm going to change Zac and Mommy should be here in about twenty minutes. Tell Gramma I said Hey and I love her." Jessy said making her way upstairs, washing up and then changing. "Jessy you ready." Zac called. "Yep I'm coming. Hey Zac, Mommy." she said making her way down the stairs. "Jessy you look so cute." Mom said. "Knock out babe." Zac said. "Thanks Mommy." she said hugging her. "My turn." Zac said pulling her to him. "Zac stop." Jessy complained to being dragged. "You'll be cleaning the floor mr. drag me." Jessy warned and he stopped. She turned and walked to his arms, "I would have made my way to you. I like you. Don't you know what yet." Jessy said kissing him. "I have a hard time believing it when you look this good hun." Zac said "Zac I love you and only you. You're the only thing that matters to me. I don't care what the rest think, I didn't dress for them, I dressed for you." Jessy said kissing him deeply. "Grampa where are you?" Jessy called with no answer. "He's getting the car. He's going to visit a friend while we're at the doctors and then he's taking us to lunch. Zac pull the van into the drive after Grampa pulls out." Mom said handing him the key. They loaded up and made their way downtown to the hospital. "We'll be in 302 in this wing Dad if you get done first." Mom said as Grampa headed to visit his friend. Jessy was busy filling out paperwork. She turned it in with her medical card when she was done. Jessy was led back to change for the physical exam and then she dressed to meet with the Doctor, Mom and Zac. "So we're getting married. Must be in love because you're the farthest thing from pregnant young lady." Dr. Adams said. "We want to know about birth control." Zac said. The doctor discussed all the options and they discussed the effectivness and side effects of each method. They decided on the mini pill reducing side effects. "I suggest you start on the first day of your next menstrual cycle that will put you on them over 30 days before your wedding. Anymore questions?" Dr. Adams asked. "Yeah, umm when can Jessy get pregnant without hurting her body's growth?" Zac asked. "From your question, I take it you want a family and someday soon. Ideally her mid-twenties, her body will have fully matured. We both know girls Jessy's age and younger have babies, sometimes the girls remain smaller than they normally would have grown to and almost all the time the babies have serious health problems, least of which is under weight, small and poorly developed babies. I would say at least eighteen to not interfere with Jessy's development, giving her a better chance of having a healthier baby. So that would be a little over a year on birth control. Within usage guidelines of the mini pill." Dr. Adams said. "No more questions." Zac said. "I'm set, thanks Dr. Adams." Jessy said. "Thanks for getting her in John." Mom said and they headed out to find Grampa in the waiting room. They went to lunch at Ponderosa, after meeting up with Isaac and Mandy. "Hey lil sis. Looking cute. Isn't that Chele's, I though I saw it in her closet?" Mandy asked. "No that's where I hang most of my clothes that I loan her. You know that old posession is nine points of the law bit, she practices it faithully." Jessy laughed. "Mom which van did you bring?" Isaac asked. "The small one son. It's at Dad's." she answered. "Can I get you to trade? I'll need to borrow it tonight for all of us to fit comfortably in one vehicle. You can head to home from here and we'll go home with Grampa." Isaac said. "Oh I don't get to spend time with my future daughter in law huh?" Mom said. "We'll be out to pick up Tay after Chele's home and we can spend sometime together then." Isaac explained   After lunch Mom headed home in Isaac's truck and the five headed to Grampa's for the afternoon of discussing the concert, the trip to New York City and the Paintball challenge. "Where'd Grampa go?" Jessy asked returning from upstairs. "He's in his room I think hun." Zac said pulling her onto his lap. "So when do we need to fill your prescription?" Zac asked cuddling her close. "You know the answer to that. Or you should. Do you not pay attention to what I say?" Jessy asked. "What? Of course I do, let's see, last weekend you said ten days. So we better get it filled huh?" Zac said. "You do pay attention to me." Jessy said hugging and kissing him. "Grampa what's with the suitcase?" Jessy asked. "Princess do you think you'd give me a ride to the airport, my flight leaves in a little over an hour for Kalamazoo." Grampa said. "What you going to meet Gramma?" she asked. "That I am and you six can have the house to yourselves for the weekend." Grampa said "But Grampa, I'll miss you." Jessy said hugging him tight. "But Jessy it's an ideal time. Walker and Diana know and expect you all to behave yourselves, no grandchildren before our time, do you hear me." Grampa warned. "Geez Grampa a little graphic." Jessy teased. "No directions included Princess. That's the problem." Grampa laughed. "Load up. Zac get Grampa's bag. Isaac, Mandy coming or giving me the keys?" Jessy asked and they loaded up and headed to the airport. After seeing Grampa off, they were making their way back to his place, "Isaac pull into the pharmacy. I need to get something?" Zac said. "Zac that doesn't sound quite right. Grampa leaves town, leaves us alone, and you have to stop at the pharmacy to get something." Jessy complained turning red. "Jessy just give me your birth control prescription. I'll pay for it." Zac said. After turning four more shades of red, "Zac I can't believe you're doing this." she said handing him the prescription and her medical card. "Wait you can't do this. God I'm not being responsible for the article of Zac Hanson caught in the local Rite Aid filling a birth control prescription. Where's your head?" Jessy said grabbing the prescription and medical card. "I'll go do it." she said heading into the store with Zac on her heels. "Zac this is right up there. Don't you care. Haven't I been through enough?" she asked and he turned and headed down another aisle. Jessy filled the prescription and headed to the front. "Can I be seen with you now." Zac asked the hurt apparent in his voice. "Zac don't be mad. You know the press would eat this up. Do you want to carry my package for me?"Jessy explained. "You sure it'll be all right?" Zac teased wrapping his arms around her. "Hey you two, we're getting something to drink. Want something?" Isaac asked heading to the Snack aisle. "Come on." Mandy said grabbing Zac's hand, who grabbed Jessy's hand. The made their choices and headed to the van. They dialed Chele and told her to meet them at the Hanson's, they were going out to visit and then made their way to the guys' house.
