Day Has Come

Part Thirty-six

"Everybody get into your suit and meet me in the back yard and sssshhh. Go." Jessy said opening the front door. "Hey guys, get done? Zac hun would you help me set up the Slip N Slide for the kids. Please?" Jessy asked. "Sure babe." Zac said kissing her hello. "Zac do this, Zac do that. Please. Kissy kissy." Isaac teased. "You think it's funny eh? Why don't you just help him then and I ain't going to kiss you. Taylor, would you set the table, here's lunch." Jessy said handing him the pizzas and heading after Isaac and Zac. Once outside, "Zac, Isaac it happened again. The Register and the Star were both at the mall on a tip of a pregnant Hanson girlfriend." Jessy said. "What?" Zac screamed. "Sssh hun. It gets worse." she said and explained the meeting with the Register and then the Star, "Zac they invited us to lunch and I know how Mom and Dad feel about the kids but when I saw her, the ex, you know the one I dumped for Taylor, Jaime I think. She was headed right at us so I said yes and they bought our pizzas. They were pretty decent and I really threatened them if this didn't stay friends, our having lunch. So anyway I promised them the news scoop on the Concert so they would drop this witch hunt, they agreed. I have Chele working on it and she's heading home early to help me tell Tay, I didn't think it would be fair me asking you again." Jessy finished. "I thought that attorney he hired was suppose to put an end to this slander." Zac said. "Jessy did she look, you know like she was." Isaac asked. "I really didn't get a close look, she was wearing this big baggie Hanson shirt so I couldnt really tell but one time I thought I saw her jeans and she didn't look it to me." Jessy answered as they put the slip n slide together. "Jessy what, tell me." Zac asked. "It's, I'm just so tired of being asked if I'm pregnant is all. I'm sorry, I know you said it doesn't matter what they think, you know. I'm sorry, I'm being a cry baby." Jessy cried. "Jessy you are not, you have every right to be mad babe. I can imagine how this hurts after what you did to prove it last time. I mean how dumb do they think we are that we would screw around now without being protected." Zac said. "Yeah that, why Zac?" she asked. "Hun Tay is watching, you have to stop crying before he figures out something is wrong Jessy. Please for me." Zac asked and Jessy walked away. "I didn't mean for you to move away from me Jessy." Zac said. "Zac honey I won't stop crying in your arms I feel safe there. Right now I'm hurting, so I'm going to do something to take my mind off it." Jessy said putting in the stakes to secure the slide. Isaac was hooking the hoses together and turned it on, spraying Jessy and everyone laughed. "You play too Jessy?" Mackie asked coming out the door. "Real funny Isaac." Jessy said putting in the last stake. "Man I thought you were with Zac and he was clear from it." Isaac snickered. Jessy sprinted and took the first slide. "Whee You guys are going to have a blast. Come on Zoe see if you can do this?" Jessy asked slowly sliding so she could see and Zoe followed and went for a good slide. "Yeah. Way to go. Now you wait until the person before you is off the mat before you can start, okay? You guys have fun I'm going to take a shower since i'm all wet." Jessy laughed, adding, "Jessie keep an eye on things, especially Zoe for me, your brothers will be at the table if you need help." she said heading to the house, taking off her wet tennies and heading to the laundry room. "Jessy I'm really sorry. I had know idea." Isaac said. "I'm sure you are Big Brother. Why would I think anything else?" Jessy said sitting on his lap. "Jesus Jessy you're wet." Isaac complained, adding, "Zac tell your woman to get off of me." "Jessy, hun, get off of me." Zac said. "Sure Zac, I'll set on your brother's lap then." Jessy said. "Okay, I'm totally soaked here, all the way through now. You happy?" Isaac asked. "As happy as you were turning that handle looking right at me, huh?" Jessy said. "You saw?" Isaac asked. "No I guessed and you confirmed." Jessy said standing up and heading to the laundry room. "She got you." Tay teased. Jessy dumped her wet clothes into the washer, wrapping in a towel, grabbing a change of clothes from the clean laundry and heading to the bathrom. She took a quick shower and was out, drying her hair, "Sis it's me, let me in." Chele said rapping on the door. "You made good time." Jessy commented. "I figured you'd need to tell him to explain the news conference with the Register and Star." she explained. "At least one of us thought of that. Come on." Jessy said rushing to the office with Chele in hot pursuit. Once both in Jessy closed the door, then dialed up, "Mercury Records" she answered. "Hey Mercury, Chris Sabecc, please, tell him it's Jessy." Jessy asked. "Hey Jessy, what can I do for you?" Chris answered. "Chris you said anything, anytime, just ask? Did you mean it?" Jessy asked. "Of course sweetie, what's so wrong?" he asked and Jessy explained everything that was happening to her, to Tay, the news conference and the fact that she couldn't ask Daddy because he was up all night. "Jessy, I'll call this attorney and put the fear of God in him. I'll fax you a press release I have ready for next week, you let your local yokals know that's a week on a national release, they should be grateful and lastly sweetie go wake Walker for me, tell him. Don't be afraid of his reaction. Can you do that for me?" Chris asked. "Sure Chris, you're right thanks I will right now." Jessy said. "Good sweetie. One more thing I have this song, I think you would be great at. It was out three, four years back. But with your voice, I think you could make it an even bigger hit. You can add so much more to it than she did. I won't let you make the same mistakes she did. I'm faxing it to you. Now be my girl and go wake Walker before you tell Taylor." Chris said. "Thanks again Chris. I love you for this, I understand you didn't have to offer to be there for me. I'm so grateful to learn you're a man of you word Chris. That's important to me, more than you'll ever know. Bye I've got something important to do." Jessy said hanging up, explaining to Chele and having her pull up the info for the press meeting with the local reporters. Jessy made her way upstairs, knocking lightly and when no reply, she quietly opened the door and made her way to his side. She touched his hand, lightly rubbing it until he stirred and looked her way, "What is it sweetie? What so wrong?" he asked taking out the earplugs. "Daddy we need your help? I should have told you last time, but Tay really wanted to work things out himself without a big fuss. It just isn't working out though." Jessy said and explained everything that had happened and was happening and that she'd asked Chris for help and that's why she was here. Mom woke halfway through, "I know your rule about the kids and I broke it, I'm sorry I didn't know what else to do. I made sure they knew if they betrayed my friendship I would make them sorry. I'm not the best judge of people but I think, they'll keep their word as long as I keep mine. Daddy, Mommy I'm really sorry about the kids. They sort of had a good time and I didn't let them get too friendly with them." Jessy explained. "Sweetie I'm sure you took good care of them. We both know you love them as if they were your own siblings Jessy, don't worry about that, there's nothing to forgive. I trust you decisions sweetie, don't you know that by now. I trust you with my babies and my Zac's heart." Mom said. "You go get ready for this meeting, we'll be down. Jessy, everything will be okay. You did the right thing coming to us." Daddy said dialing up Chris. "Yeah she's just now leaving. Thanks for being there for her. She's one of mine as much as the rest of our kids." she heard as she headed back downstairs and to the office to help finish getting the packets ready for the meeting. With Chele's help everything came together and looked pretty impressive. While copies were printing, Jessy looked at the song Chris had faxed, "Sometimes" the Brittney Spears release. She knew what Chris meant about the mistakes she'd made. "I want to Beleve in everything that you say. Because it sounds so good. But if you really want to do things right. There are things about me, you just have to know. Sometimes I run. Sometimes I hide. Sometimes I'm scared of you. But all I really want is to hold you tight. Treat you right. Be with you day and night. Baby all I need is time." Jessy sang. "Wow I'd forgotten about that song. Such a great song, but boy that Brittney. What a mistake. Why'd you think of that tune?" Chele asked. "Chris go the rights to it for me if I want it. Do you think I could do it without everyone associating me as a hoochie?" Jessy asked. "You a hoochie, make be laugh." Chele said. "But you know me, you know Zac and Me. Your first reaction to the song was hoochie girl, right?" she asked. "Right but Jessy, you don't have the same delivery as she did, you sing from the heart. You can sell that song, I know you can. What were my first words. Great song. That was everybody's reaction I love this song hate that hoochie. With you there going to say, I love this song, now I'm not afraid to admit it." Chele said. "Let me test your theory." Jessy said leaving the office and walking to the piano and set the sheets in order and started playing the introduction then singing. Taylor walked over and took over the piano and Jessy stood and belted the song as the Chele and the guys sang backup. Jessy sang from the heart the last verse through and as she finished they all applauded. "Daddy Chris said I could have it if I wanted it. I really want this song Daddy." Jessy said. "Chris told me, I don't think he know you're this good though." Dad said. "Jessy I loved this song before but the way you sang it, I'd admit I love this song." Mom said hugging her. "She right hun you rocked. I'm so proud of you." Zac said hugging her tight. "That's it you rocked and a hug. I was thinking more along the lines of this." Jessy said wrapping her arms around his neck, drawing herself closer and closer, slowly, finally pressing her lips to his, kissing him with all the love she felt for him and that song causing Zac to moan for the depths of him. "Jessy I love you." he moaned. "I thought so, just checking." Jessy said caressing his face lost in his eyes. "There's something I have to do." Jessy said making her way to Taylor. "You know I love and wouldn't do anything to hurt you right?" Jessy asked taking his hands. "Sure sis, I know that. What's wrong Jessy?" he asked. "Taylor it happened again, whoever was supposed to take care of it, didn't because while I was at the mall the report from the Register came to me and said he received the same tip, if he'd be at the main entrance of the mall he would meet a pregnant Hanson girlfriend. I talked him out of pursuing it easy enough, the reporter, Dave is compassionate and dropped it. He no more than left, and the two from the Star, the girl that went with me when I took the pregnancy test and the guy that egged me into taking it came up and were grilling me. I convinced them I knew all of Hanson and their girlfriends and the last girl talk we had, was proof enough to me, none of us were pregnant. Tay, I accepted a lunch invitation with them, letting them take the kids and I to Pizza Hut against Mom and Dad's rule because I saw Jaime, she was headed for us. I knew if I let them takes us to lunch we'd be out of there before she could reach us. So I did it. Tay I'm sorry but it was her and she was pissed I took her reporters she came unglued, screaming, swearing, knocking things over. Last I looked two security guards were trying to subdue her. I'm assuming she got arrested and then she's going to have a public forum to speak and I'm afraid you're not going to like what she has to say. I'm sorry I know you asked me to let you handle this Tay and I gave you my word but I went back on it. I told Mom and Dad, Tay. I can't go on like this. I'm almost afraid to go out in public because I'll be asked again if I'm pregnant. I know I acted tough like it was nothing, but it hurts when the keep asking. I didn't like to them Tay, I even took their stupid test, why don't the believe me?" Jessy asked. "Oh Jessy I'm sorry. I made a bad choice the attorney I hired. He should have prevented this. Dad I need you help. I can't let this happen to Jessy again, she deserve better than to have her morality questioned because of some sicko I went out with." Taylor asked. "Son, we're working on it. Jessy I need you to call your reporter friends and get them out here." Dad asked. "Sure Daddy." she said wiping her eyes and dialing the numbers and inviting them over. "They'll be here in twenty minutes." Jessy said and they got ready for their guests
