Day Has Come

Part Thirty-two

"We're home Jessy." Daddy said. "Thanks Daddy. I'm going to see Mommy and the kids first, tell Zac if you go to the studio." Jessy said and headed in the house, putting Grampa's sandwich in the refrigerator calling out "Mommy?" "Upstairs sweetie. Oh please come see me?" Mom asked. "What's up? Where are the kids?" Jessy asked. "They're in the backyard. The boys were taking a break and I asked them to play a while. I shouldn't be nervous but I am Jessy. I have this feeling Daddy is going to push me away." Mom said. "Like he did me?" Jessy asked. "Yeah. Ever since we talked, I've had this feeling that he'll feel I'm his little girl too and as he told you, this isn't a place for a little girl." Mom said sadness evident in her eyes. "Mommy have Daddy go with you, I'll watch the kids. If you're with Daddy he won't think of you as his little girl. Remember he said you were his little girl until you became Walker's wife." Jessy suggested. "Jessy you came to work with the boys. I couldn't ask you." Mom said. "You don't have to, I'm offering. He's my Grampa Mom." Jessy said. "Sweetie I love you." Mom said hugging her. "I know Mom, I feel it all the time." Jessy said hugging her back. "Let's go find Daddy and see if he'll take me." Mom said. Soon Mommy and Daddy were on their way to town. "You are so amazing. You come out here to help us and help Mom. You made her so happy." Zac said pulling her to him. "I am not amazing. Zac you forget they're my family now too." Jessy said hugging him tight. "Zac, thanks for such a nice family." she added kissing him tenderly. "You're welcome." Zac replied kissing her deeply as Zoe tugged at her jeans. "Hey baby sister." Jessy said bending to pick her up and cuddle her between herself and Zac. "She sure likes you. Not that she doesn't like the others. But her eyes light up when she sees you." Jessy said. "I sure like her a lot." Zac said. "I can see it in your eyes." Jessy commented. "It looks as if you are needed to make the teams even. Besides, someone could use a change of clothes. You are dirty." Jessy said sending Zac to the backyard as she and Zoe headed to her room. When they came back down, Jessy and Zoe sat at the piano. Jessy played the beginning bars to "More Than Anything" as Zoe sat quietly. Jessy stopped and raised it a third "I love you more than anything, than anything I do. And I'd give anything and everything I have, just to be with you. The feelings I hold inside are emotions I can not hide. The feelings will not subside. I'd give anything, anything. When I, look into your eyes. I see something special about you. And when I, hold your hand, you seem to understand. That I love you more than anything, than anything, I do. And I'd give anything and everything I have just to be with you. The feelings I hold inside are emotions I can not hide. The feelings will not subside I'd give anything, anything. When I think of life without you. It brings me yeah, it brings me right down to my knees. Cause I can't enjoy life without you. You are my sun, the thing that keeps me on oh no. I do things that can't be done. I fly to the moon and then around the sun, If you'll just say that I'm the one. I'd do anything, anything. Well I love you more than anything, than anything I do. And I give anything and everything I have just to be with you. The feelings I hold inside, emotions I can not hide.   The feelings will not subside. I'd give anything, anything. I give anything, anything you Know I'd do anything for you. I love you more than anything, anything. More than anything." Jessy finished not realizing she and audience of more than Zoe. The applause startled her and caused her to jump, her reaction scaring Zoe, "Oh Zoe, I'm sorry don't be scared." Jessy said holding her tight. "Play me more. Sing more." Zoe asked and Jessy went through the song again. This time, Jessy sang with even more emotion as the guys gathered around the piano. "Oh Jessy I knew you'd be this great." Zac said as she finished. "Wow I never knew my song was that good. You've got to do this for me Jessy." Isaac pleaded. Hey Jessy, um would you consider singing with me?" Taylor asked as Zac glared. "Say you'll think about it. Come on Mackie we better get you cleaned up before Mom comes back. Jessie, Avie you better head up too." Taylor said leaving. "Jessy please, I want the world to know how good it really is." Isaac asked again stopping to kiss her on the cheek as he took Zoe up for a bath. "I"m sorry Jessy. They didn't mean anything by it, they weren't teaming up against you. I think they didn't really believe me earlier when I said you'd be good for this song." Zac said sitting behind her on the bench. "Zac I love to sing. It just scares me so the thought of people judging me. It's part of me." Jessy said. "Yeah it is personal, your talent and man it's scary to put it out their. I guess I never thought about people judging it, that's not why we got into it. We sang because we loved it. Jessy we still love to sing, the rest of this is a headache but it's the only way I know to do what I really love and get paid for it. I don't want to bag groceries all day, just to be able to sing to some old lady while I carry her bags out." Zac said. "Oh God Zac you're so funny. What grocery store do I go to?" Jessy laughed. "You get my point. Singing is what we love so we sing to the most people we can. It gives us a better chance at being able to sing again." Zac said. "Yeah I see what you're saying." Jessy said laying her head on his shoulder. "Zac?" Jessy asked. "Yeah Jessy?" Zac replied. "Show me what you guys have done so far." Jessy asked. "Sure hun. I'd love to get your reaction." Zac said rising and extending a hand to Jessy. He led her to the studio and pulled out a set chart and went over it for her, "You're into this aren't you." Zac asked. "Man Zac this is so neat. Who would have thought it starts like this." Jessy said. You could hear the excitement in her voice. "Zac why don't you have something from your past. You know something accapella." Jessy asked. "I guess we hadn't thought about it." Zac said. "This isn't a normal concert this is special, you being you, not what sells. You wouldn't be where you are without it, is all." Jessy said. "I like the idea." Zac said heading to the house as Jessy rushed after him. "Where's the fire?" Jessy said almost having to run to keep up with his quick pace. Up the stairs they went, "Jessy says we out to start with something accapella, you know like the beginning of Hanson. I think she's got something a progression of our music. You know first accapella, than with canned music and dance steps like we were headed, then simple instrumentals, ending with now." Zac said excitedly. "God Zac, you could start with Amen accapella, then we'd love to see and hear you guys do Rockin Robin. Man that's got to be one of the most popular wavs on the net. Then can't you imagine you guys in your cuffed jeans, and hawaiian print shirts. I know I'd love to hear Boomerang, at least more than the 30 second clip that you can find on the net. The possibilities are endless. You should be having so much fun with this." Jessy exclaimed. "You make it sound fun." Isaac said. "It should be." Jessy said. "Man let's head to the studio, I need to get this down." Taylor said. "You guys go, I'll stay with the kids." Jessy said. "No we'll each take a kid and then we'll all go to the studio." Zac said. "I'll take Jessie and Avie hun. You two take Mackie and hun you get Zoe ready." Jessy said. The group met down stairs, where Jessy was packing snacks for the little ones. They left a note for Mom and Dad and headed to the studio. The set up a picnic for little ones and put a movie in to occupy them. The four gathered around the console and Tay produced a clean Set sheet, writing Amen in the first slot. "I can see the three of you in black dress pants, white shirts and black ties standing a solitary mic, front stage center." Jessy said. "You have got to be kidding me." Zac said. "Zac Hanson I'm serious, to me that's Hanson or was it The Hansons at that point." Jessy said. "Jessy hun I can't remember the last time I got that dressed up." Zac said. "Well it will be good practice for the wedding." Jessy smiled. "Oh boy, I fell into that one didn't I." Zac said. "I think she has a good idea. Hair pulled back." Taylor said giving it more thought. "Hey Jessy what we going to do why we change?" Tay asked. "I guess I could sing then." Jessy said. "You would." Zac asked. "Yeah Zac I guess I can." Jessy said. "Jessy that'd be great." Zac said hugging her tight. "I know you can do this." he whispered into her ear. "I'm starting to believe you." Jessy said pulling back, searching his eyes and smiling. "So you going to sing when we change from the jeans and shirts too?" Tay asked. "Then I'd need another song. Well that's no problem I guess." Jessy said. "So Amen - Us, More than Anything - Jessy, Rockin' Robin - Us, ??? - Jessy, Acoustical Set, Boomerang, Rain, Stories, Soldiers, With You In Your Dreams, Final Set - Ever Lonely, Where's The Love, Weird, Look At You, River, Man From Milwaukee, and Mmmbop. Encore - Accapella - I Will Come To You with Jessy." Taylor said. "Zac how would you feel if I said I wanted to sing Lucy?" Jessy asked. "Jessy that would be great. I love the song by puberty made it impossible. Yeah we could lower it but, a deep voice singing those words just don't go together. Hun I'd love it please." Zac asked. "There's my second song, I can use back up but what about a drummer?" Jessy asked. "I'll just change my shirt hun and I'll play for you." Zac said. "Man this is coming together." Isaac said. "Does it always happen this way?" Jessy asked. "Yeah sooner or later it falls into place and the minute you get on he right track it just starts to click like his." Taylor said. "All we needed was for you to point us in the right direction." Zac said wrapping his arms around her. "Jessy I've enjoyed this, I hope you consider be a part of this from now on." Isaac said. "Me too Jessy, I like the way you think." Taylor said. "You know how I feel about you." Zac said holding her tighter and kissing her neck. "We all know" Ike and Tay laughed. "Chele" Mackie screamed running to her. "Hey Sis" Jessy called as Zac continued to devour her neck. "Somebody feed him before he devours my sister." Chele laughed. "Man Zac I didn't realize it was getting this late, I better go make supper for Mom. Must be Grampa let her stay. I'll be in the house." Jessy said heading up to the house and busied herself preparing supper. "Hanson residence." Jessy answer the phone. "Jessy sweetie it's Mom. I'm sorry it's taking so long. Daddy let us stay. He's friend probably won't make it through the night. It's a lot to ask sweetie." Mom was interrupted "Don't ask, we're family just tell me what needs to be done." Jessy said. "First supper." Mom said. "Working on it as we speak. What else?" Jessy asked. "Grampa doesn't want Chele alone." Mom said. "Chele is here with us Mom, I called her earlier and told her what was up. Anything else?" Jessy asked. "No sweetie, just you girls stay there tonight. Grampa doesn't need to worry about you. I know you've got clothes. You tell Taylor to take Chele home after dinner so she can pick up clothes for work tomorrow." Mom said, adding, "We'll see you whenever." "Bye Mom." Jessy said. The group had supper Jessy and the girls cleaned up while Chele and Tay went after clothes for tomorrow. Isaac and Zac rough housed with Mackie and Zoe and tired them out. The girls headed to bed and Isaac headed up to call Mandy and tell her the great progress they made on the concert. "Come here woman. Finally you're mine, mine, mine." Zac said pulling her to him. "Oh I love this time best." Jessy said. "Night time?" Zac asked. "No you know I'm a morning person. I like Us Time best." Jessy explained as the two talked until there was nothing left to say, they sat in the silence, holding each other.
