"Zac Hanson I'm trying to drive." Jessy scolded. "Then pull over and stop." Zac said. "Zac you're terrible." Jessy said "How can you tell me which way to go with your head in my lap." Jessy asked. "We're almost there, two more lights and turn right and we're there." Zac said staring at Jessy. "Zac you're staring again aren't you. You and Grampa always staring like you don't believe I'm real or something. Zac why is it we left our fun filled camping experience to go to a Mall to be gawked at?" Jessy asked turning right and seeing the Mall. "You're a great co-pilot Zac." Jessy said. "Take the last drive and go around the back, there's a spot. I need something is all. We'll go back, promise." Zac said. "I'm not complaining Zac. Why would I, I'm still with you."Jessy said parking the car. "Here you carry these. I always lose them in my purse and it takes like forever to find them." Jessy said tossing him the keys. "What's in there?" Zac said looking into her purse. "Probably everything. One thing I hate to clean, my purse." Jessy said. "I'll do it for you. It'll be another way to get to know you." Zac said. "Boy are you brave. I'll take you up on it." Jessy said getting out of the car and they headed in. "Zac wait let me read the directory. There it is, that was the name on the box my necklace was in hun. We have to go there for Taylor." Jessy said. "Got it. Let's go." Zac said taking her hand in his and she stood smiling. "What Jessy?" Zac asked. "When you took my hand I realized I'm truly, deeply, madly in love with you is all Zac Hanson."Jessy said smiling. "I love you too Jessy so much it hurts. I feel like I'm coming out of my skin at times, I'm so alive when I'm with you. My tears." Zac said touching her face wiping the tear that had broke free. "Let's go before we both cry." Zac said as Jessy nodded yes and they walked hand in hand, window shopping on the way to find Taylor's gift for Chele and Zac's surprise. They hadn't made it far before they were mobbed by a half dozen reporters. "It will be okay hun, don't get scared. I won't let them ask anything personal." Zac said. "Hey guys what's up a new store opening?" Zac asked. "So it's the youngest Hanson eh Zac?" reporter asked. "I'm Zac, the youngest member of Hanson, yeah but I don't know what you're asking." Zac said. "We were told we'd meet the pregnant girlfriend of Hanson here." the reporter replied. "Don't look at me." Jessy squealed to their delight. "Well there was that one time, the Virgin Mary. You think God 's going for Jesus II Zac?" Jessy ask. "Well that would explain a pregnant virgin hun." Zac said kissing her cheek and laughing along with the reporters. "So you're a virgin. That's nice." the reporter said "Hun didn't you just assure me that you wouldn't let them ask anything personal." Jessy teased. "Can I rephrase that Jessy, I won't let them ask anything personal about me." Zac laughed. "Oh no, I'm not the only virgin here. They don't have to ask you, I'll tell them." Jessy laughed. "Awww how sweet. That's awfully rare these days, you know kids." the reporter said. "That's not fair. We aren't kids, and if it's true that our being virgins is rare, that's a pretty sad statement about the youth of America. I think all the teenage pregnancy makes the problem seem larger than it is. I mean in my close circle of friends, fifteen to twenty girls, I only know of one who's had sex and she was like eighteen. And no she didn't get pregnant and she's been celibate ever since. Standing up and saying I'm a virgin, isn't something I work into the conversation too often. We're out here, you just don't know or care, but we're here." Jessy said. "So why are you here Zac?" the reporter asked. "Actually I came to buy Jessy an engagement ring, she told me she'd marry me last night and I want the world to know." Zac said kissing her forehead as her eyes filled with tears again. "Is that true, Jessy wasn't it." the reporter asked. "Yes it's Jessy and it's true, he proposed and I accepted. November 2nd, we're still working on the year. Don't look at me like that, I am not pregnant. You go buy the test kit. And I'll go take it for you." Jessy challenged, adding, "Or you pay the doctor bill and I'll go." Turning back to Zac, "You had to bring me here, to buy an engagement ring, with the press looking for a pregnant Hanson girlfriend. Wait I, we were just all together, Isaac and Mandy and Taylor and Chele, there is no pregnant Hanson girlfriend, you guys have been had. Or at least when we left them, who knows what they're up to. Nah not that." Jessy said amusing the press. "Are you serious about taking a pregnancy test for us, Jessy." the reporter said. "Sure why not, I'm not hiding anything and I have to go anyway. Find a pharmacy, quick." Jessy said. "Jessy honey you don't have to prove anything to them." Zac said. "Zac I'm not doing it for them. Your fans are going to hate me anyway hun. I just don't want them think that I trapped you. I don't want them think you mess around when you don't." She said then leaned to his ear, "almost but you weren't playing horseshoes so it doesn't count." Jessy whispered. "Here it is Jessy, if you're sure you don't mind." the reporter asked. "No I don't mind the bathrooms are down here. Would you like to come with me, Julie Tulsa Star?" Jessy asked. "Sure Jessy." she answered. "You ever use one of these if that's not being too personal." Jessy asked. "No I haven't." she said. "Instructions where are you?" Jessy said as they turned the corner. "I know how girls." a middle aged woman said chasing after them. Jessy headed in the stall. "Sweetie you pull that right there. Hold it like that, sit down and as you pee, place it underneath making sure you get it wet right in this area. By the way I'm Brenda and I think you handled yourself very well out there." she said. "It's a little embarassing telling the world I'm a virgin, but it's better then them telling the world I'm pregnant." Jessy said sitting and "Oops I peed on my fingers, I think I hit the spot then." Jessy giggled. "Brenda I should have kept that plastic sleeve, I didn't lock it and I'm covered, would you mind?" Jessy asked. "Of course not." she answered opening the door and taking the stick in the plastic sleeve."Here Julie you be the keeper it says 15 minutes doesn't it, no 18. I don't remember that part." Brenda said as Jessy emerged, washing her hands, asking, "So when do we find out what I already know." "Fifteen more minutes, Jessy." Julie said. "Well it's been fun, but I'd rather wait with Zac." Jessy said. "Let's go outside any, not a place I hang out in either." Julie said. "Let's go ladies." Brenda said leading the way. They were lined up outside. "Patience, patience, another ten minutes. I can personally vouch for the authenticty of the test." Brenda said. "Hey Zac, can we go now." Jessy asked hugging him. "Sure hun. You didn't have to Jessy." Zac said holding her tight. "I know hun." Jessy said. "We're going to buy an engagement ring. See ya." Zac said placing an arm around Jessy guiding her through the reporters. "Zac, Jessy could we tag along. We promise no more inappropriate questions. Let us share your joy with your fans Zac." the reporter asked as Jessy laid her head on Zac shoulder. "Zac it's okay honest." Jessy said, adding, "I might as well get used to it now." "Jessy said it's fine, but one out of line question or comment and you're history." Zac said. "Congratulations, or sorry which ever it is Zac, Jessy is not pregnant." Julie offered as the gathered around the stick. "I just knew you were a good girl." Brenda said kissing Jessy on the cheek. "Don't let them push you around, ever." she added, leaving. "Come on hun. Ring shopping time." Zac said leading her to his favorite jewelry store. "Zac welcome, nice to see you son. Who's the pretty lady?" Bill asked. "Bill this is my fiance Jessy and we're here for a ring. Tell him what you want Jessy." Zac said. "Congratulations Zac, you to Jessy. Wonderful news. You're such a beautiful looking couple. Let's get your ring size Jessy." Bill asked sliding on a paper ring and adjusting it and pressing it together, slipping it off. "Now Jessy tell me what do you want?" Bill asked "Zac is all. Hun I've never thought about it. Until I met you, I wasn't getting married. I've never dreamed or fantasized about it. You?" Jessy asked. "Something old and exquisite, you know like an heirloom would be." Zac said. "Then that's what I'd like please Bill." Jessy said hugging Zac, laying her head on his chest, listening to his heart. "Jessy it's okay. Promise." Zac said. "you always know what I need to hear don't you?" Jessy asked. "I better. How else am I going to take good care of you." Zac said kissing the top of her head. "I'm so lucky." Jessy whispered. "Zac could I speak with you a minute?" Bill asked. "If it's about price. I don't care we're only doing this once and if what she wants takes my entire savings, I'll just have to make a new album and hit the tour circuit." Zac said. "I love you Jessy you pick anything you want I don't care as long as it's under $200 grand. I guess I could use my other account too." Zac said as Bill brought out tray after tray of rings. "I'm sorry I'm not trying to be difficult, I just don't like them Zac. I mean I haven't seen one thing I would be proud to hand down. Who wants a big rock in an ugly setting, not me." Jessy explained. "Simpler then it is." Bill said walking back with two trays. "These I like better" Jessy exclaimed and as he placed a third tray done. "That one, I like that one Zac." Jessy beamed. "Me too honey, that's just what i had in mine." Zac said hugging her tight. "Well Zac we'll let you do the honors." Bill said handing Zac the ring. Zac looked at Jessy, taking both her hands in his. "Jessy you're my world, you make me feel alive. I love you more than anything and everything, forever and a day. Make my life completed and say you'll be my wife, my partner in life. Marry me Jessy on November 2nd of some year." Zac asked knelling before her. "Oh Zac I can't imagine life without you in it. You make me happier than I ever dreamed I desrved. You make me feel, no believe, I can do anything I commit to. I'll be the happiest woman on earth with you by my side. I can't wait for November 2nd, whenever." Jessy said tears filling her eyes and making their way down her face watching as he slipped the ring on her finger. "Oh Zac it's beautiful." Jessy started to cry as he rose to kiss then hug her as Jessy stared at her hand, smiling. "Zac can we ask you to kiss her again?" a reporter asked. "Man what you guys don't make me do." Zac teased, adding, "Jessy I know this is going to hurt you more than it does me, but it's what the fans want." Zac teased until his lips touched hers and he kissed her with more love than the time before and she kissed him with all the joy she felt. "I'm jealous. My wife doesn't kiss me like that anymore." a reporter said. "That's too bad. Maybe you ought to kiss her that way and remind her." Jessy said turning to face the complainee, adding, "Love is two way you know. You get what you give." "Wow profound too Zac. She's one in a million." the reporter said. "She sure is, my one." Zac said kissing her sweetly. "You're the one, the only one, for me too." Jessy said. "Here you go Zac, her wedding band is in the box, Congratualtions again Zac, Jessy. The best of everything for you both." Bill said as Zac signed the charge slip and placed the box and his credit card in his pocket. "We have one more shop to visit, have to pick up a special gift for my brother to give his girlfriend." Zac said. "Which brother?" the reporter. "Taylor, he's going with my sister Chele. They were meant for each other too." Jessy said as Zac took her newly ringed hand in his, staring at her staring at their hands. "Come on Jessy before you have us both crying." Zac asked and she looked at him and smiled as he raised her hand in his and kissed it. Jessy leaned her heand on his shoulder as cameras flashed. "Zac there she is again. Isn't that the girl, you know." Jessy asked. "Where hun there's alot of girls out there, most of them staring at us. I hope this isn't trouble." Zac said "It is him and she wearing an engagement ring this time. Way to go Zac." Bobbie said. "Hey Bobbie." Jessy and Zac said. "Gimme a hug Jessy, this is great, he marks you in style momma." Bobbie said. "Sure Bobbie. Isn't it the most beautiful thing you've ever seen." Jessy said hugging him as the gang let out a whoop and holler echoing up and down the mall. "Nah Jessy that would be the person wearing the ring." Bobbie whispered. "Thanks Bobbie. Did you tell your brother we're friends yet. Make sure you do." Jessy whispered. The gang escorted them to the shop for Taylor's gift, scaring away the reporters. Jessy and Zac went in asking for something like what Jessy was wearing. The clerk made one up, boxed it and wrapped it and Zac signed the charge slip for his brother. "Bobbie you guys are the greatest, handling the press the way you did. You'll never believe the day we had." Jessy said explaining as they walked them to the car. "See you Bobbie." Jessy said hugging and kissing his cheek and he closed the door for her. "Zac man you gotta come hang. Jessy wouldn't mind." Bobbie said waving as they headed out.
