The Story of Station

Station is teenage (rock?) quartet from Nipigon, ON.  The band features Laurin Landry (18) on drums, Sean McClure (19) on bass, Tobin Remenda (17) on rhythm guitar, and Brandon Tryon (18) on lead guitar and vocals.
The band started out in June '98, with Tobin and Brandon sitting around, jamming on a couple of old acoustics while attempting to create a decent harmony.  Laurin heard them practicing one fateful summer afternoon and asked to join the band.  Tobin and Brandon agreed that Laurin had a smooth voice, and welcomed him into the band with open arms (Tobin's zipper was open, too - but that's another story).
But what to name the band?
The three youths huddled together and threw some names into the air.  And then, innocently enough, Brandon began to play a punk song on his acoustic.
"What the hell is that?"  asked Tobin.
Brandon replied, "It's a song, dipshit!  It's from DrIvEn (Brandon's old punk band).  It's called 'Stationed'."
Ta-da!  They chopped off the 'ed' and had themselves a band name: Station.
Within a couple of months, they had played several local talent and benefit shows, and were quickly making a name for themselves.  But by the time November reared its ugly head, the band began discussing a possible change in their sound.  As pretty as two acoustics and Laurin's sweet serenading (and barely audible) voice was, it was getting a little TOO relaxed for their own liking.
Someone brought up the possibility of adding a drummer and bassist.  Unfortunately, Laurin and Brandon were the only two drummers in their high school who wouldn't insist on becoming a Metallica cover band, so what could they do?
The only thing they could do...
Laurin bravely offered to do drumming duty -- but who would sing?  Well, since Brandon knew all the songs good (and can hit a right note every now and then), it was suggested that he sing.  What else could Tobin do?  Nothing.  He stayed on rhythm guitar.
Now the only question was: who could they recruit to play bass?  Sean McClure - who else?
Sean was a quiet boy who kept to himself, and that was perfect seeing how the band spent most of their practices griping at one another.  So, one chilly winter day in Nip-Rock's dreary cafeteria, Laurin and Brandon confronted Sean and asked: "So, do you want to be in the band or what?"
A smile lined Sean's sly face.  "What band?"
A few punches later Sean was the new bassist for Station, and found himself in the middle of dinner season.  See, Christmas was just around the corner, and Station was scheduled to play three X-Mas dinners/dances in a two week span, plus their school's Christmas Assembly.  But with motivation form his bandmates (which included more ass whoopings), Sean successfully learned and (for the better part) remembered 15 songs in one busy and hectic week.
Time passed and they played a few shows around the Thunder Bay district, the biggest of all being at the local Chapters bookstore.  Many people from the Nipigon-Red Rock area drove up to see them perform a 26 song set.  It was beautiful.
The next major news came in late-March (a couple of days after the Chapters show), when Tobin literally ran away...to Swift Current, Saskatchewan.  The band played a couple of small gigs without him, but then took a break until he came back in the summer.
When Tobin came back, the other three guys were lazy (and he was stupid), so they kept that whole "resting period" going....until now.
In early-December, Tobin took off for SK again, leaving behind the legacy of Station...but don't worry!  After all, Station is still together.  They're just waiting for Tobin to visit to they can record some music.
