It was a cold December evening in Hartford, CT. It was near 11 PM. WWF Raw is War was just finishing up in the Hartford Civic Center arena. Twenty-one year old Lexa Power-McMahon was sitting in her office with Joe. They had already delivered all of that night's messages and were relaxing, when the phone rang. "Lexa and Joe's Messaging Service?...oh hey....what's goin' on?...yeah...all right, I'll be right there. See ya baby." Lexa hung up the phone in her and Joe's office.

"Was that Jeff?" Joe asked, not even looking up from some paperwork he was doing at his desk. Lexa got up from the black leather chair she was sitting in.

"Mhmm." She muttered, walking to the mirror to look herself over. She was wearing LEI jeans and a light pink babydoll Tee. "I'm going with him, OK? Make sure Stephy gets a ride home, OK?" She said, walking back over to him. She leaned over his desk and gave him a kiss on his cheek. He looked up at her and winked.

"I will, Hun. You just go have fun, OK?" He said.

"I will, don't worry, I will." She said, as she slipped out of the office. She walked through the halls on her way to the Hardy's dressing room, greeting people as she went.

"Hey Lexa!" Joanie called to her.

"Hey girl, what's up?" Lexa said warmly, stopping to clasp her hand.

"Nothing, just about to go take a shower, get dressed, and go SLEEP." She said. They both giggled. Lexa and Joanie were pretty tight, they knew they could trust each other.

"Oh yeah, speaking of which, I didn't get a chance to see your match Hun, how'd it go?" Lexa asked her.

Joanie gave her a look. "Well, I was fighting Chris, how much worse could things get?" She smirked. They both laughed more. "You better go take a shower then. Anyways, I'm going to find Jeff. I'll call you later, OK?" She said.

"Sure. See ya!" Joanie said, patting her on the shoulder and carrying on her way. A few minutes later, Lexa found the Hardy's dressing room and knocked on the door. She nervously ran her fingers through her hair as she waited for one of them to answer it. She jumped as the door swung open. She was face-to-face with her boyfriend, Jeff Hardy.

"Hey sweetie!" He said in his sweet Southern accent, giving Lexa a hug. She smiled and hugged him back, giving him a small kiss on the cheek, and stroking his purple and blue hair. He had re-touched his Manic Panic the night before.

"Come in, babe." Matt said, who was standing just feet away. Jeff wrapped his arm around his girlfriend's waist and walked her into his dressing room, with Matt closing the door behind them. They sat down on a small couch, and Matt handed her a box of Cheese Nips.

"Want?" He asked.

She laughed and handed them back to him. "No, I'm on a diet, thanks anyways Matt." She said.

"Aww....ya do NOT need to lose weight, baby!" Jeff said.

She just shook her head. "Yes, I do. So how was your night?" She asked him, turning herself towards him. He looked at Matt.

"Oh, I guess this is my que to leave, huh? Ya'll suck..Hehe, have fun you two. And Jeff, if you're not gonna be back by...Ah' fuck it, just call me. Later." Matt said, grabbing his coat and walking out of the room.

"Finally..." Jeff muttered, taking Lexa into his arms and kissing her passionately. They had been going out since late July. Jeff cared about Lexa a lot, but it wasn't always easy dating his boss's daughter. They both knew it wouldn't last forever, but hell, they didn't care. It may have been a fling, it may have been love, but it felt right. Lexa pushed him back slightly.

"Sweetie..we gotta talk." She said.

He nodded. Jeff sighed. "I know. It's just not the same, right?" He said.

"Yeah...but that's not it. I have a friend who REALLY wants you..and I think you two would make a better couple then you and I do." She said calmly.

"No, it's not, it's cuz' Terri's been hanging around us so much, huh?" He said.

She smirked. "Yeah, that too. And well...I wannabe on the singles scene for a while..But I don't wanna lose you as a friend, Jeff." She said, stroking a blue strand of his hair. They hugged. She took his hand in hers. "Thanks for being there for me...I know you'll always be, Jeff." She whispered. He smiled at her. "I'm going to go find my sneakers...I think I left them in the McMahon dressing room...Call me later, OK?" She said to him. He nodded. "Bye babe." She said, walking out of his dressing room.

He had a thought and quickly followed her. "Wait...Lexa, what's that friend's number?" he asked.

She giggled, and scratched it into his arm with her nails. "Now find a pen QUICK before it wares off." She said, continuing to walk. He shook his head. He knew there was more to this, but he didn't know what it was. He would just have to wait to the right moment to find out. Lexa walked into the McMahon dressing room. JP and Brian were filming a small skit for the end of the show. "Ahh.." She muttered, quickly ducking down. When it was done, she got up, only to be grabbed by JP.

"You. Mess. Up. My. TV. Time. Once. More. I. Kill. You. Understand?" He said vituperatively.

She nodded quickly. He let her go, and walked out of the room with a laughing Brian. "Bitch." She muttered, backing up.

"Hey!" Stephanie shouted.

Lexa had backed into her. "Oh, my bad. Hey girl, what's goin' on?" She said. Steph shrugged, and pulled Lexa down onto the leather couch with her. "I dumped Jeff." Lexa said proudly.

Stephanie laughed. "Boy needs to go back--"

"To Rainbow Drive." Lexa finished her sister's sentence. They both laughed. Just then, Jason walked in.

"Hey Lexa...why aren't you with Jeff?" Jason asked, sitting down next to her.

She shrugged. "I decided I wasn't happy with him, so I dumped him." She expressly stated. A small smile crept onto Jason's face. He thought Lexa deserved more then Jeff could ever give her anyway. Jason sat on the other side of Steph.

"You ready to go home, Hun?" He asked her.

She sighed. "I gotta see what JP's doing. He didn't know I was in here, he's actually off with Brian looking for me now." She said, sighing once more. She got up. "I guess the best thing for me to do would be to go find them before they come back here and find me. If you don't see any sign of me before you're going to leave, page me." She said, tapping her pager as she walked out of the room.

"OK, great, yeah..." Lexa muttered to herself, watching her sister walk out.

Jason shook his head. "I'll call Sara and tell her we'll probably be late. You go find Joe..and where the hell are your shoes?" He said, laughing.

Lexa laughed and looked down at her feet, covered only by white socks. "That's actually why I came in here, that's where I thought they were..." She said, as her eyes scanned the room for them.

Jason laughed and bent over, picking them up. "They're right here by the door." He said, handing them to her.

"Oh my god, I'm so freaking slow...thanks Jay." She said, grabbing her black and white skater style sneakers and slipping them on. He laughed a bit more as he reached into his brown duffle bag that was sitting near the door and pulled out his black Nokia cell phone, dialing Sara's cell number.

"Hello?" Sara McMahon Ruso answered. She was sitting on her bed, in her bedroom on the second floor of The Princess Palace, in Stamford, Connecticut.

"Hey baby." Jason said to her. "I'ma be a little late tonight, so is everyone else, and JP is being a pain in the ass again. OK baby?" He said.

She nodded. "Yeah, I figured that. OK, hurry back. Later babe." She said, hanging up.

Jason stared at his phone in awe. "What's her problem?" He muttered to himself, shrugging and chucking it back into his bag. He left the room to go find Steph or JP. All he could hope was that JP was going to let her go home that night.

Lexa rolled her eyes and walked out of the room, patting him on the back on her way. She jogged over to her and Joe's dressing room and ran inside. He had Kiss95.7 blaring on his radio. "We Go Deep" by Janet Jackson was playing.

"Oh shit, my song!" Lexa squealed, hopping onto Joe who was sitting on the couch, and sang to him. He grooved and listened with content. She had a beautiful voice. When the song was over, she laughed and hopped off him.

"Oh yeah, Lexa, I've got a message for you." He said.

"Really?" She smiled, sitting back down next to him. "Tell me." She ordered.

"OK...Don't Shoot The Messenger...But you've got a secret admirer." He said, smugly.

"Tch...ugg." She muttered. "Joe, you're shit. Now let's go home." 1
