Returnables to Aid Rod Stewart!
Monday • January 15, 2001

In December, the always-reliable NY Post reported that rock legend Rod Stewart had fallen out of favor with the glitterati.

To quote:

"Rod Stewart can't buy a hit, so it's not surprising his name is off everyone's charts these days. Stewart was refused entry into the VIP area at Tom Jones's recent Wembley concert. 'Do you know who I am? I'm Rod Stewart' didn't work on the bouncer, who barked back, 'I don't care if you're James Stewart. Without a pass you're not allowed in.' And Stewart was turned away on Saturday from L.A. indie dive Al's. He refused to pay the $5 cover charge and then tried to get his party of seven in for $20. The bouncer declined to haggle."

Don't worry, Rod. The Returnables are here to lend a helping hand.

From this moment on, Rod Stewart is on the Returnables' guestlist in perpetuity. No more sweating over those lofty $5 cover charges, Rod. You're partying on our dime now. It's the least we can do for the man who wrote "Maggie May" fer crissakes.

We encourage all of our friends' bands to take similar action. And if you aren't in band, at least make a pledge to buy Mr. Stewart a coctail. Rod the Mod deserves nothing less.
