RETURNABLES BOMB AT BOX OFFICE!

HOLLYWOOD - The summer blockbuster season is barely underway, and there has already been one casualty of war. The Returnables’ highly anticipated WWII epic “Pearl Harbour” failed to live up to lofty box office expectations over the Memorial Day weekend, grossing a mere $117,311 to finish just ahead of “Pokemon 3”.
Insiders say a similarly titled Ben Affleck action vehicle may have confused some moviegoers, which possibly contributed to the poor ticket sales. Others, however, insisted poor advance reviews shot the picture down before it could even take flight.
“The dialogue was pedestrian, and to call the performances ‘wooden’ would be an insult to elm trees everywhere,” wrote Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun-Times. “But worst of all were the historical inaccuracies. Does anyone really think Tojo would be wearing a Teengenerate pin on his lapel?”
