LOS ANGELES - The eagerly awaited collaboration between the Returnables and Sisqo will have to wait.

The Chicago pop kings were to join the up-and-coming R&B sensation on his smash "Thong Song" during Wednesday's telecast, but were promptly removed when multiple nominee Eminem threatened to boycott the awards show if "those Windy City sissies", as he referred to them, were allowed to participate.

Deferring to the Detroit rapper's widespread popularity, Michael Greene, President and CEO of the Recording Academy, gave the Returnables the hook. "We were looking forward to their performance," he read from a prepared statement. "But the reality is very few others were." 1
