DISNEY REFUSES TO DISTRIBUTE THE RETURNABLES!

WASHINGTON — The Walt Disney Company is refusing to distribute the latest album from The Returnables, according to sources close to the Chicago garage-pop band.

A senior Disney executive confirmed that the company has no plans to distribute the band's latest album, "So When Can I See You Again?... Plus", but adds there was never any working agreement to do so. "Why would we distribute a record by a band we have no business relationship with?" the executive asked, on condition of anonymity.

The band's manager, Blaze St. John, told reporters "The absence of an actual business arangement between my clients and Disney is immaterial. The bottom line is they could distribute this record if they wanted to, and they are refusing to do so."

"It's not in the interest of any major corporation to waste its time and money on a bunch of nobodies," the Disney executive countered. "I mean, who the hell are these guys, anyway?"

St. John remained optimistic. "We're discussing the issue with Disney. We're examining all of our options and look forward to resolving this amicably. I'd hate to think Mickey Mouse would take a dump on free speech." 1
