MONTLUCON, France - The cycling team sponsored by famed rock and roll combo The Returnables continued to shock the racing community today as they swept the top 4 spots of the grueling 17th stage of the Tour de France.
The quartet broke away from the pack with about 22 miles to go, with their custom-made Schwinn banana seat 3-speeds proving to be too much competition for Italy's Massimiliano Lelli and Latvia's Romans Vainsteins, who finished 5th and 6th, respectively.
"124 miles is a long haul," Team spokesman Frankie Lee Ray told a gathering of reporters. "Especially when you have to deal with those cheating Cinzano bastards."
