Having been bitten by the bug, the next year I was able to write several more articles on Bill, when I could publish a magazine entitled "LA HISTORIA DEL ROCK 'N' ROLL", exclusively devoted to The Big Beat (this might sound like an ad, but it was the first mag of its kind in México and in many other countries around the world. Even the U.S. took some time to actually realize that Rock 'n' Roll was here to stay!) At the time, I felt that Rock 'n' Roll was not just another rhythm or a passing fad, but a whole new way of life; deserving of being chronicled as an important part of modern history!

In the index page, I introduce the magazine, explaining the motives of the publication, and the main articles that would cover the great icons of Rock 'N' Roll: Bill Haley and His Comets, Elvis Presley, Pat Boone, Ricky Nelson, Fats Domino, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, Connie Francis, Brenda Lee, Alan Freed, Duane Eddy and The Everly Brothers, among others. Also, there were articles devoted to several great exponents of the growing Mexican Rock scene: Los Locos del Ritmo (the first great Mexican rock 'n' roll group), Los Rebeldes del Rock, Los Teen Tops, Enrique Guzmán and María Eugenia Rubio (Incidentally, this magazine has now become a real collector's item!)

In a four-part section of the first issue of "La Historia del Rock 'N' Roll", devoted to the great icons of the Big Beat, I gave Bill due credit as "El Creador del Rock 'n' Roll". At the end of the article, I mention what the future had in stock: Bill's newly signed contract with the local Discos Orfeón, where he would soon be recording (in Spanish no less!), and where a new phase of his career would develop as the incredibly successful "Mr. Twist". (Yep, that's Bill and His Comets below, rockin' it up at the "Teatro Follies" in México City!)

Fortunately, the magazine (which I had originally intended as a one-time publication) became a success. And at the request of thousands of Mexican teenagers, who were obviously as rock-starved as I was, the second issue of "La Historia del Rock 'N' Roll" became a reality; and, of course, I devoted the cover and the main article to Bill and his combo!

In the above photo-montage of Bill with a local monument as the background, you see him again autographing his first Decca album.

To my good luck, The Comets also autographed this album, and even Bob Hayes, Bill's personal manager, gave me his autograph! Here are some of the pictures from this incredible "signing session":
