Peavey Vandenberg Signature

I'm currently using my Peavey Vandenberg Signature series 1 guitar as my main gigging instrument. It has a poplar body and maple bolt-on neck. This gives it a much brighter tone than my mahogany/maple neck-thru Vandenberg Custom. After over a decade of using only Seymour Duncans in my passive pickup guitars, I'm currently using DiMarzios in this one. It has an Air Norton in the bridge and a Virtual Vintage Blues in the neck. The neck pickup is surprisingly close to the sound of a real strat single-coil pickup, in a real strat. Plus it's hum cancelling - great for a stage guitar. The bridge pickup balances nicely and gives a nice thick tone. I modified the circuitry a bit for the bridge pickup - I put a 47K resistor in series with the output of the pickup, before it goes into the volume pot. This damps the high midrange resonance a bit, so there's not a sudden spike in the frequency response when the volume pot is turned all the way up. I also have small treble bypass capacitors on both pickups, again damped by resistors to limit how treble-skewed the response becomes with the volume turned down.
