If you note that on the chromatic scale the first 
fingered note on the 6th string (Low E) is an F, and therefore  
thie power chord is an F because the first fingered note is also 
an F.  This is also the same formation, or fingering, for all power 
chords,they are, however, moevable up and down the fretboard.
