Matt News!

10/10/98: PJ Or No PJ?
Somewhere in print it states that PJ will decide what to do with Matt after their tour is over (which has been for a couple of weeks now). Matt WAS however on the kit at the Crocodile Cafe in Seattle where PJ opened for Cheap Trick last Saturday! And he will appear on PJ's live album that is coming out in a while! Hopefully, there will be more Matt/PJ news in the near future..Until then--We wait!

12/15/98: Wellwater Conspiracy
Matt's other band released their new 7" The Compellor on September 22nd! WWC's album Brotherhood Of Electric is completed and will be released on February 9th!

1/15/99: Baby Baby Baby!
In other news, rumors have been flying left and right concerning the word of Matt and wife April's baby on the way! As of now, the MCFC has no official word from the Mattster himself, but we'll keep you posted!

1/15/99: Well, NOW Look What Happened!
It seems that Matt will be getting together with PJ in '99 to go into the studio and he will be featured on their new album A source close to this whole 'drummer situation' is quoted to have said that Matt will likely join PJ as a permanent member..

2/1/99: It's True! It's True!
Those baby rumors can be put to rest now..Welcome Ray Cameron! And make sure to keep a close eye on Boom Theory for the chat appearance made by Mr. Cameron on 3/31/99! Note: This IS gonna happen! 6:30 PM PT/9:30 EST:)

3/11/99: Nope..Not Gonna Happen!
Well, that source didn't know what they where talking about! Check out what Matt said in the latest issue of Metal Hammer Magazine

"I stepped in to help out the band on their US tour last year when Jack Irons was taken ill and I will be involved to some extent on Pearl Jam's new studio album [recording is expected to start in April], but I've made it clear all along to everyone concerned that I'm not interested in joining the band permanently. I've got too much else happening to make such a commitment."

And being featured on Chris Cornell's solo album...

"I'm on a song called The Disappearing One. For me, it wasn't at all strange working again with Chris. It may sound arrogant, but I genuinely believe that I'm the only drummer who has a real rapport with him. I've only done the one track, with Josh Freese [Guns N Roses, The Vandals] and Victor Indrizzo [Scott Weiland] doing the rest, but I've heard some of the album and it's very different from Soundgarden. There's still heavy stuff on it, but Chris has gone in a more singer-songwriter direction. He's out there!"

Many thanks to Deb Baker on the SOMMS list for posting this! Make sure you check out her Chris Cornell Webpage!
