Averi ran around frantically looking for her shoe.
Kevin must think I'm so stupid. I can't even find my shoe.
Averi ran into her bedroom and looked under her bed.
"There it is!"
Averi put her shoe on. She grabbed her beach bag and ran out to Kevin.
"Ok, I'm ready."
"Ok, let's get going. We have to meet everyone at Bri's house."
"Okie dokie."
Kevin stood up from Averi's couch smiling.
Wow, he has a really nice smile. I haven't noticed it until now.
Kevin took Averi's hand and led her out to his car.
"Nice car."
"Thanks, I like it."
Averi laughed and climbed in his car and headed towards Brian's house.

Kevin pulled into Brian's driveway and looked like she was in awe of the house. Kevin laughed and turned off the car.
"What?" she questioned defensively.
"I'm sorry, you just seem very in awe of Brian's house."
"I am, it's huge."
Kevin just laughed.
"You'll get used to it."
"I'll be here some other time?"
"I hope so. I plan on keeping you around for a little while."
Kevin looked at Averi to see if she was going to reject him. Instead he just saw her smiling.
"I'm glad."
Kevin smiled. It seemed like Averi felt the same way he felt. He had been hoping she liked him as much as he liked her.
"Well let's not just sit here in the car all day, let's go in. You can meet the rest of my friends."
"Ok," Averi said enthusiastically.
They got out of the car. Kevin walked over to her and held her hand as they walked up to Brian's door.
