"So what's this important thing you have to tell me?"
"You might want to sit down ma."
AJ's mom went over to a chair and sat.
"Ok, I'm sitting."
"Mom, Kiara's pregnant."
"Alexander James, I can't believe you. I thought I taught you better than that," Denise yelled.
"I know mom, I know."
"You better take responsibility young man."
"I am mom. Kiara's dad kicked her out. She's staying here."
"The poor girl. She must be so upset."
"She is. She can't stop crying. I'm glad she doesn’t have school too much longer. She graduates next month."
"That's good. Where is she now?"
"She's up taking a nap. She's exhausted."
"What are you going to do when you go on tour?"
"I don't know mom."
"I'll stay with her."
"You're not coming with me?"
"Not now. The poor girl doesn't have anybody. I'm going to stay with her and see that she gets taken care of."
"Thanks mom. How am I going to tell the guys? Michael and Jeff are going to kill me."
"You're right they are."
"Thanks for the support ma," AJ said sarcastically
Denise smiled.
"You know I love you."
"Yes I do."
"I'm going to go home and call the doctor to get Kiara an appointment. She needs to get checked out and stuff."
"Thank you so much mom. I don't know the first thing about this stuff."
"I know you don't, that's why I'm helping."
"I appreciate this so much mom."
"I know. Oh, and AJ?"
"Yeah?"
"You better not leave her. She needs you more than anything right now. If you leave her, I'll break both of your legs and make sure this is the only child you will ever have."
AJ cringed at that thought.
"Don't worry mom, I'm not like my father."
"I sure hope not Alex. Now, I'm going to go home. I'll try to get Kiara an appointment at my doctor."
"Thanks again mom."
Denise just smiled at her son before walking out the door. AJ plopped down on the couch and closed his eyes in thought.
"How the hell am I going to tell the guys?"
