Platform
Medley:
I Get Lonely
, Let's Wait Awhile,
Mixing Business with Pleasure
(New Tune
,
unconfirmed title)
and
Doesn't Really Matter
This new medley came about with the release of the video "Doesn't Really Matter". I want to incoporate a rounded platform with a white lighted rim onto the stage. (think "I Get Lonely" the video) The platfrom could either be brought out during an intermission or built into the stage. Like everything Janet does. It will have some tricks to it. The opening song of the medley is "I Get Lonely". A low fog slithers across the stage as Janet and two female dancers form onto the platform. This is indeed a very intense moment since all the dancing is done upon this platform. Yellow and white lights gleem in the backgorund as Janet performs her famous breakdown of the song which in turn splices into "Let's Wait Awhile." The outer rim of the platform now revolves around Janet while she is seated on a stool that rises from the middle. Two other dancers play out to the song gracefully moving 360 degrees around Janet. The visual concept of this moment has the crowd literally amazed. Janet closes the song as the circled platform stops, splits into fours, (like a pie) and rises into different elevated sections. At this point Janet performs one of her new tunes "Mixing Business with Pleasure" (unconfirmed title) from her current release. The last song of the medley and of the tour is "Doesn't Really Matter" as the platform elevates three feet above the ground. The song incorporates a few platform tricks from the video but due to Ms. Jackson's not many. Jackson makes her exit as several white pieces of fabric are blown vertically into the air with streems of white light gleeming from every direction. The stage soon after goes black.
