If Tears Could Talk... If my tears could talk, Who knows what they would say. Perhaps thousands of words, So difficult to display. They would whisper, "I'm sorry" When I was wrong and you were right. They would scream, "I'm scared" when I'm all alone in the middle of the night. They do talk, But tears reveal too mich. They're not hidden, But wiped away with a gentle touch. Tears do talk, Why won't you listen? You just might find What you've been missing. I have to tip-toe out of your way With things I can't do So many things not to say, I have to act differently around you. Tears can talk, But you wouldn't hear a single word they say. If only you could read a tear, Instead of wiping it away. If my tears could talk, Then you would finally know All of the things I'm afraid to say, And too scared to show. But my tears are silent, Never to speak again. It's no one's fault really, Just tears from way back when. P O E T R Y H O M E |
