Two in the morning. I'm in the Star Market [supermarket] near my house in Chestnut Hill. Totally f-----d up. A kid comes up to me and goes, "'Scuse me, Mr. Perry, would you mind signing this?" My eyes swim into focus. He's holding somebody's album. The cover's red. I didn't know why he wanted me to sign it. I ask what it is and he goes.
