From Veer, March 1992 CD Review by Winsome Lou Some For those of you out there who enjoy the rhythmic stylings of the Mission and the airy sound of early U2, Course of Empire are for you. They manage to blend driving guitar melodies with a subtle eastern flavor, and top it off with smooth, well controlled vocals. They seem to subliminally expose you to the idea of peace and inner-healing without ramming daisies down your throat and dancing around you in a hippy-fied way. Listen to the fast grinding instrumental sounds or "Dawn Of The Great Eastern Sun" (which is just as overwhelming). Each track will lead you down new paths of wonder and musical bliss. This is a release that anyone, be they Blackhead, Metalhead, or Deadhead, could enjoy. Give it a spin.
