Yes, your eyes did not deceive you the fourth issue is indeed here. Inside it’s as varied as my feelings on moving to a photo collage called “Oddities”. I recently did a presentation on zines at Mrs. Brown’s 1 and 3 period honors English class (Hey guyz ). I was actually NOT nervous 1) because I was talking about something I know 2) it was really fun 3) I was too excited to be nervous. I had a bunch to say (like how I thought zines ought to be from your heart and others shouldn’t influence you, why I started Phantasm, how I operate, yadda yadda yadda…). They seemed kinda surprised that I didn’t have a deadline or theme. I told them how I didn’t really see many guy zines (trying to get the male portion of the class revved up about zineing). I also warned them that having a zine is a huuuge responsibility and is harder than it looks and how it takes major dedication and not everyone is “right” for the position. That’s basically what I said in a nutshell. Even if I inspired one person, it was all worth it. The Phantasm page got some updates (pics and articles) so give it a look. The page also hit the 200 hits mark last month and is currently at 250. People I don’t know/don’t know Phantasm are visiting and giving me some rave compliments. Muchas gracias you guys . I applied for a few awards for my site so I’ll see what cuts lose and keep you posted. This one really cool e-zine’s (zine over the Internet) site had a call for articles on grrrl power (although I am sooo sick of the girl powery Spice Girls wannabe cliché it was nothing like that). I emailed the editor my page address and said she could choose an article from there. She emailed me back saying she would love to have an article (ideally it was “Conquering the Backhand”) and, for an added ***bonus*** she would attach a link from her site to mine. YEA again!!! As always, this issue is even better than the last (something I constantly strive for with each issue). So, stop reading this and start reading the zine known as Phantasm.
