I have received numerous e-mails regarding the story 'The Later Years' (also known as the no name story). Who the two main characters are, what inspired me, etc. I hope this will clear up all misconceptions.
The Inspiration for this story came from my grandparents. They had been married for about 50 years before my grandfather died a little over a year ago. I'm not positive on how it relates to the story, but it was my inspiration. My grandparents were very much in love, and to me, that spoke volumes. When my grandfather died, my grandmother took it really hard. The whole family did. I flew out from school to attend the funeral, and found what I thought to be true love carrying on, even through death. My grandmother is the inspiration, as is my grandfather.
Why did I write this? I was going through a rough moment in the wrinkle of time in my life, as it happens more often than not. It had been late at night when I first started typing, and to tell the truth, I had no idea what I was typing until I had finished the first four pages. I was also going through a bought of slight depression because I missed my grandfather so much. Anyway, writing is one of the most therapeutic ways of defining and dealing with emotions, so I took advantage of that. It took me nearly ten days to write it. That's it. *shrugging*
Who are the main characters? I couldn't tell you. I wrote this story so it was meant not to have any names. I didn't have a specific person or character in mind when I wrote this. Some people have e-mailed me and asked me if it's JC and Mike, because the woman acted very similar to Mike. The answer is no. I left it up to you, the reader, to decide for yourself who you wanted it to be. For some it is JC and Mike, to others Lance and Rachel; Chris and Devon; Joe and Ashley; or Justin and Carli. It's all up to you - the characters will remain nameless.
