Lives in a Dream World
She ducks into an empty hallway.
Relief floods her veins.
No more people, no more stare,
No more feeling insane.
For she lives in a dream world,
A creation of her own.
She lives with her fears,
She lives all alone.
There is no one around her,
Yet she voices her pain aloud.
She's away from all the people,
She's away from the hostile crowd.
For she lives in a dream world
Made up in her mind.
She's lost to the music
That no one can find.
In this world, she can be anything at all.
She's set on a pedastal from which she can't fall.
Here she feels happy, here she feels bliss;
Then she opens her eyes and remembers where she is.
For she lives in a dream world
Where nothing is real.
There are tears on her cheeks
That she no longer can feel.
She lives in a dream world,
But when she wakes,
She wonders if
She can handle another day.
Some kids call her vulgar names,
Others pretend she's not even there.
So she hides in her world of dreams
Where she doesn't feel and she doesn't care.
For she lives in a dream world,
A creation of her own.
She lives with her fears,
She lives all alone.
Alone in her dream world,
But wishing it weren't so.
If she left it, she'd die,
So she'll never let go.
No, I'll never let go.
