New Year's Eve

The minutes tick by,
A new year is approaching.
7, 8, 9,
Is a new start beginning?

Could I have closure on all my mistakes and fears?
Could all my accidents and sins be erased?

23, 24, 25,
I make my wishes now.
My resolutions for my new life.
I dream of being perfect,
Of fulfilling the image you seem to have of me.

47, 48, 49,
It's getting closer.
I bid my old life adieu.
I hope and pray of heaven this new year,
And miracles to happen in my life.
I wouldn't mind a change
In family, myself or school.

58, 59, HAPPY NEW YEAR!
It's 99,
Yet I don't feel any different.
The crazy thing is,
When I think of you,
It's ok.
