Name:
Marshall Star
Personnel:
Current Job:
Mandy is a cabaret artist, as Shirley Bassey. See Time Out and www.clubmontepulciano.com or www.marshallstar.co.uk/bassey.htm
Previous Employment:
Mandy actually had a left-of-field dance hit in 1996 as Kasie Sharp, and has sung for German Superstar DJ Bobo. She played to 1000's on a monstrously huge PA tour of dance clubs in 1996, culminating at Leicester Square's Empire. Mandy's Dad (an ex-docker, bare knuckle boxer, and bouncer) is star of Perrier Award winning film, The Journey. She has also had releases across Europe, and has shot a video on the beach in Cannes.
CP played for Athletico Spizz, Big Country, The Expressway (Jesus and Mary Chain), and has had his own label / band with 2 releases, as well as numerous other production and playing involvements. With Spizz, CP played 6 consecutive sold-out nights at the original London's Marquee, (including a Saturday matinee), as well as touring with The Clash, Siouxsie & The Banshees, etc, spent over a year at No 1 in the independent charts, and at one point took up all 3 top places in said chart. Cutting Edge performances eclipsed such headline acts as The Human League (Hammersmith Palais), and The Banshees (New York's Palladium). With The Expressway toured with My Bloody Valentine (USA), PWEI, and Livin' Colour (they were crap).
Being Wendy's first band, not much to say, but Wendy's involvement will blur the boundaries between music and visual.

Strengths and Weaknesses:
Unfortunately they are one of the same thing. Producing music with a revolutionary sound (so we've been told), you are battling against the tide everywhere. We would like to make nice songs, with nice production, as I always start out wanting to sound like Kylie, or Spiller, or something like that, and then it comes out wrong,....but original; so the strength is we make well written songs, and weakness is they end up in an unconventional shell. Nevertheless we have a really good manager now, and tour dates are coming in the Autumn with an appearance at a White Label night at In The City, dates in Birmingham and London.
