Friendship

What makes a friend?
That is question no one can answer
Yet I ask myself quite often

There are many different definitions of a friend
The dictionary has one; I have one
Everyone has one.

I think a friend is someone you can talk to
Someone who listens to your problems
Someone who offers a solution

A friend is a good listener
You can tell them you ideas and beliefs
But they aren't afraid to debate about them with you.

A friend is someone you can trust
Someone you can tell your secrets to
But they won't tall a soul.

A friend is the person you tell your dreams to
They encourage you to achieve them
Even when the rest of the world laughs at them

A friend is someone who tells you your faults
They help you try to fix them.
They also tell you the good things.

A friend tells you when people are talking behind your back
Even if it hurts to hear it.
They stick up for you when it seems the world has turned against you.

To be a good friend
You have to do what they do for you
That is what true friendship is about.
