HERE AND THERE AND EVERYWHERE: Described by Album Network as having a "mastery of dramatic, dynamic pop," COOL FOR AUGUST are heating up the airwaves as their first single "Don't Wanna Be Here"--from their Warner Bros. Records debut GRAND WORLD--is receiving major spins on both alternative and rock radio stations across the U.S., as well as airplay on MTV's "120 Minutes" and "M2." In the meantime, the band (GORDON VAUGHN, vocals; TREVOR KUSTIAK, guitar; ANDREW SHIVES, bass and SHANE HILLS, drums) continue to tour, playing clubs and radio shows with the likes of Collective Soul, Better Than Ezra, Tonic, Matchbox 20 and Our Lady Peace--with more dates to follow. About their music, VAUGHN explains, "Our style of songwriting is basically simple: It's catchy verses and big choruses, and it just so happens that no matter how sad or compelling any song is, there's always that grandiose thing about it that is uplifting, even though we're talking about people getting dumped on..." Watch for COOL FOR AUGUST on the road this summer.
