My Rage - My Pain... I hate my Darkest Days

Well Here is the Concert Review from the show with Placebo & Flick opening 3/17/99

Flick

Well... They started at a little after 8pm & they reminded me of an early Smashing Pumpkins (Even with a sexy girl on Bass which incedently was the ONLY Thing this band had going for them!)They were aweful!
Anyways,I didnt like them and not many people there were happy with thier performance either!
They got -ALOT- of applause when they did thier last song - I suggest avoiding this band at all costs... They Sucked!!

Placebo

Placebo came out about 9pm and played for an hour & 15 minutes - They heckled the croud alot because some people were booing & flipping them off. I think they did an exelent job live. Thier set ranged between thier first cd and the new one.The guitarist/Bassist came out wearing a black Kimono dress w/ silk pants and the singer/guitarist just had a black Placebo shirt on. I couldnt see the drummer very well from my angle but she is CUTE Anyways... The music was impressive just most people were getting impatient to see Stabbing Westward. Here is what thier setlist consisted of.

Scared of Girls , Brick Shithouse , Allergie , You Dont Care About Us , Bionic , 36 Degrees , Without You Im Nothing , Every You Every Me , Lucy Of the Flowers & Pure Morning

As an overall over view I would say they are a great live band and on cd they are almost as good - I see them getting really big in the near future but Its sad that they were booed so much because of impatient S.W. Fans! :)

Stabbing Westward

Stabbing Westward hit the stage around 10 after 10pm and the croud went nuts! I didnt recognize thier first song right away because my mind was trying to anilize what song it was thinking they would open with something from darkest days - they didnt! It went from song to song and not sticking to any certain pattern. Me & My wife saw them last summer and they played a pretty straight set off of Darkest days and only 2 songs from Ungod and 3 from Wither Burn Blister Peel.
This time they came out and played EVERY song I wanted to hear the first time we saw them! They didnt have alot of audiance interaction though which I will go into why after the concert review. - Here is the setlist.

Slipping Away , Haunting Me , Everything I Touch , Control , Waking up next to you , Throw , Torn Apart , What do I have to do? , When Im Dead , Desperate Now , Sometimes It Hurts, ACF , Sleep , Save Yourself , (Encore) , Why & Shame

Then at the end of thier set Chris announced that we will see ya outside. We freaked and ran behind Bogarts and waited for the band to come out. Before long the whole band came out one by one and me & my wife Heather sat & talked to thier drummer for about 15 minutes and had each of them sign the cd cover to Darkest Days and my shirt from the show.I asked if they were going to be going back in the studio anytime soon and he said that they were going to tour another 6 months and then take about 1/2 year off then start on a new cd then so we could see a new Stabbing Westward disc in early 2000. Good news! :)
Chris was on the phone for about 45 minutes with his girlfriend then he came out to sign some autograghs. He was sick, suffering from Strep Throat - with how he performed you would have -NEVER- known. He signed my wife's chest then he made some jokes with me about it. We asked him about him bieng sick and he said he went to the dr. 2 days ago and he was put on codien and anti-biodics plus some rest - His girlfriend was wanting him to cancel a few shows but he didnt want to. *shrugs* we wished him luck on getting better and then we left. They were extremly nice guys!If anyone ever gets a chance to see them, dont hesitate to go see them!
They are awesome live!
Laterz! 1
