The first show of the tour I went to see was at the PNC Arts Center in Holmdel NJ. Christopher Nicks read the definition of Enchant, to cast a spell over, to charm greatly, to delight to en-trance, entice, allure, to bring one to tears....
The set was beautiful! Lots of curtains drapping the stage and the backdrop was a hugh semi circle window with lots of flowers and curtains through it. The lights changed colors behind it giving a different look and feel throughout the night. The drums looked like they were sitting on top of a marble stand with flowers everywhere!
Stevie was dressed all in black, in layers of chiffon skirts. The bottom layer was all in black, on top of that a shorter shirt that sparkled, and the top layer a short skirt with sequins. Her jacket was short and the sleeves sparkled. She changed shawls throughout the night, the gold one for Gold Dust Woman, the original Stand Back shawl, a black shawl, and a few floor lenth cloaks. One was rose colored, and for Edge of Seventeen a cream colored cloak with a shawl over that, which she threw off before collecting gifts and greeting fans. She wore a white lacy cloak that buttoned at the front bodice for Twisted. On her forehead she wore the jewel like stones that sparkled, like she wore for the Dance tour!.
Stevie was very talkative and told us about the songs as she went along. She seemed to be enjoying her self, and kept saying she was having alot of fun! She did an acoustic set singing some rare songs to hear live. After The Glitter Fades, Garbo, Rose Garden, and Sleeping Angel. It was wonderful! For Landslide she had someone in the front row tell her guitar player her name, and then Stevie dedicated it to that person, Gabrielle, at the Arts Center. Stand Back was a highlight of course, it really rocked! And I was able to get to the stage for Edge of Seventeen! We had second row at the Arts Center, which is very close to the stage. These were the best seats!! When the night ended, as Christopher said in the beginning, charmed, delighted, en-tranced, brought to the point of tears, Enchanted!!
A week later we were off to the Camden Entertainment Center, in Camden NJ. These seats were fifth row, but on the far side that swung out pretty far, so the end we were on made us further back. But security didn't bother us with standing here at least. The song set was the same as well as the wardrobe pretty much! Stevie again, was enjoying this type of tour. It was like hearing all the songs again, for the first time, fresh and so beautiful! I wished it would never end! This time Landslide was dedicated to Lenny up front. It was harder to make our way to the stage, but we did manage to get up there. Three different people jumped on stage during this time. And security took them right out, without anyone getting to Stevie. Stevie is certainly at her best, her songs are even more beautiful live, her wardrobe so lovely! A fantastic evening, and its my birthday tommorrow, so what better way to spend it!! One more show left for me, Phoenix next month in July! I can't wait!!
My last show, Phoenix, was really special, as Don Henley was one of her special guest, and they sung Leather and Lace, one of my favorites!!! The rest of the show was the same as before, except for some reason, Stop Draggin My Heart Around, had been cut from the set a few shows back I heard. She did not perform it tonight either. Mick Fleetwood was another guest, who did a little dance during the drum solo with his bongo drums. This show was wonderful! I was not one of the lucky ones going to the after party and my seats were row 24 on the side nearest the stage, so it wasn't to bad. But there was no way to get to the stage from here. After it was over, I couldn't believe that this was my last show, and wished there was still more coming! Oh, well, next tour!!
