Moon

The scientists will ape and loon
Their moon buggies zoom through crater and dune
As they feast on ice treats with an electronic spoon
Now that they've found ice on the moon

"It's the biggest thing since life on Mars,"
they'll sing, driving past in their hypercars,
Collecting soil samples in airtight jars
They'll dance in the light of the silvery stars

The lunatics are counting the days
Till they live on the moon and fulfil their craze,
Residents of an oasis
In the desert that space is.

The newsreaders will ape and loon
"What a boon to live in near vacuum;
There's bound to be colonists living there soon,
Now that they've found ice on the moon"
