CBBC GETS SPICEY!

Hey it's the Spice Girls! Hang on a minute no it's not - it's the CBBC girls! We rounded up the top five TV presenters and kitted them out as our fave pop babes. Kirsten O'Brien made a super Sporty Spice. But we had to be careful not to get in the way of her high kicks! Blue Peter babe Katy Hill was chuffed when she spotted the slinky little number we'd chosen so she could be Geri and couldn't wait to try on her ginger wig! It took an entire morning to perfect the Spice Girls look but all the girls had a fab time. They even bopped around the studio singing Spice Up Your Life! But if you want to know what they really, really thought about dressing up as Spice Girls for a day then turn the page...

KIRSTEN O'BRIEN AS SPORTY SPICE

Did you enjoy being Sporty Spice?
"I thought my outfit was spot on. But I must admit I thought the wig was a bit dodgy and was going to spoil it."

Have you ever met the Spice Girls?
"Yes just before Wannabe was released. They were so excitable and easy to interview."

Who's your fave?
"Sporty is my fave so I was really pleased to be her. She was the underdog when they started but her beauty has shone through."

What's your fave Spice song?
"I like Spice Up Your Life. When I last went home, even my dad was singing it!"

Did you enjoy dressing up?
"I remember I played a leaf in a school play and had to wear a ballet skirt made of thin chiffon type material. I used to put it on my head pretending it was hair and style it. I actually bought a wig with my first pay cheque from the BBC."

Were you a budding Spice Girl when you were little?
"I was in a band when I was in sixth form college. It was just a laugh really cos they needed a girl singer and I said I'd do it. I don't think my singing's that strong!"

KATY HILL AS GINGER SPICE

Did you enjoy being Ginger?
"It was a great day! So much fun, I love things like that where you get to dress up in clothes that you normally wouldn't wear. And those clothes! They were so outrageous."

Have you ever met the real Spice Girls?
"I have! I had to do some filming with them in the Summer for Blue Peter, and they were gorgeous!"

What's your fave Spice song?
"Say You'll Be There - I just love the video! I want the boots and leather, it's such a great look."

Were you a budding Spice Girl when you were little?
"Well I don't have much of a voice and didn't have the moves, but I was in a band. I loved it, the spotlight and the attention. It was fun!"

Who do you think would make a good boyfriend for Geri?
"I think she'd go out with Brad Pitt. And if she didn't like him, she could always say, 'I know someone who dressed up like me and looked like me,' so she could send him my way!"

SALLY GRAY AS BABY SPICE

Did you enjoy being Baby?
"It was a really good laugh. The wig was outrageous! In fact it was the hairstyle I had a few years ago."

Are you like Baby Spice?
"No, I think Baby is the peacemaker of the band, whereas I'm more brassy, I'm probably more like Ginger Spice. But having said that, Baby's my favourite Spice Girl because she's pretty and has a hentle manner about her, and I really like that."

What's your favourite Spice song?
"I really liked the last one, Spice Up Your Life. I went straight out and bought it. I think they've got great voices, especially Emma."

Were you ever a budding Spice Girl when you were little?
"I was never in a band but I studied music and played the piano at school and loved it. In fact I'm trying to get one into my home now. I just love music, every day my CD player's going ten-to-the-dozen, and I DJ around the house to suit my moods."

ROMANA D'ANNUNZIO AS POSH SPICE

Did you enjoy being Posh?
"The thing that got me was whenever I do Blue Peter pics I have to have a big grin on my face. So being Posh Spice was a novelty cos I could pout and not have to look happy so I really enjoyed that for a change. The thing I've got in common with Posh is that I always wear black."

Who's your fave Spice?
"Out of all the Spices I prefer Posh cos I love her look. She's got a brilliant figure and looks great in short skirts. I was glad I didn't have to wear a micro mini though."

If you were Victoria, who would be your David Beckham?
"I'd definitely go out with my all time fave babe, Leonardo DiCaprio. He's gorgeous."

What's your fave Spice song?
"I bought 2 Become 1 cos I really love that song, it's such a good ballad. I'm even considering having a fancy dress party where everyone has to come dressed as a Spice Girl. That would be a great laugh!"

Have you ever met the Spice Girls?
"I haven't met them, I'd like to though, and if I met them I'd tell Posh I was her for a day, if I wasn't too embarassed! They're so famous I'd love to meet them in the flesh."

JOSIE D'ARBY AS SCARY SPICE

Did you enjoy dressing up as Scary Spice?
"I loved being Scary Spice. I love her clothes especially the leopard skin numbers. As soon as I put my wig on everyone said I looked like her but I think the glasses were a good idea. When I put the glasses on I thought I looked like Scary - they really topped it off!"

What was the best thing about being Mel B?
"I loved snarling at the camera. I'm usually a bit shy when I'm having my picture taken but as soon as I got into Mel B's outfit I felt like I could be as outrageous as I wanted."

Who's your fave Spice Girl?
"I like all of them but I'd say Mel B is my fave. I love her attitude. She always says what she thinks and I think that's a good thing. Mel B's got a great figure and her hair is brilliant. I love the way she wears it - she's wild!"

Have you ever met them?
"The most recent time was at An Audience With the Spice Girls. I was very fortunate to be invited to that and it was great fun. All the girls looked brilliant, they always make such an effort to glam up."

Are you a Spice Girls fan?
"I love all their songs cos they're such great party tunes. I don't actually own any of their CDs, but I'm always singing along to them when they come on the radio."
