Like a Rainbow

Sitting alone in a darkened room
Dwelling on my past
not daring to look to the future
fear sweeps over me
what am i going to do?
I sink lower, deeper into the downwards spiral
never pausing to look where the path is leading
where i have walked from
what has passed me by.
Shut away from the world
i dont have to hide any more
my tears are washed away
i'm trapped in a vicious circle
there is no way for me to escape
as the rain splashes in puddles around my ankles,
i quietly fade away like a rainbow
into that endless sky called life
