Texts of Brandon MacSuibhne FlightThe dark caress of night slivers through my skinI’ll spread my arms and ride the stars, my wings of velvet sin Flying so freely through the fog, never to displace The horrifying images of hate and pain branded on my face My lust for sorrow cannot be denied, I embrace my misery Upon the cemetery sky, the moon is cold like Bathory The wind blows cold upon my flesh, I shiver in my flight Far above the canopies, the dark below is beautiful in the wrap of night My mind is screaming suffering as I spiral through the mist I just wish to experience a dark romantic kiss A kiss so cold and delicate, my mouth turns numb with delight A kiss that means so much to me I’m shaken in my flight This picturesque scene of darkness and tranquility Almost makes me forget my pain, almost complete humility But then I see the stars so high, I begin to cringe For one second of my life, I forgot I was human I drop down from the high, ravaging summer sky And place my feet upon damp soil, I hear the echoes of a cry That cry came inside my brain, and I finally realize why No matter how far I travel, I’ll never know another erotic high And so I tread on and on in this stinking mire Wasting away my love and life, burning in my mental fire The distance seems so close to me The distance ---- misery Copyright 2003 Brandon MacSuibhne |
