The Uninvited formed in 1988 when the Taylor brothers, Steve and John, left the party-rock outfit The Bogartz in favor of forming a band that placed substance and attitude above trends and fads. First on board was bass player Bill Cory, who was perfect for the young band despite the fact he couldn't play bass. The band holed up in a rehearsal hall for over a year, determined not to emerge until they developed their own style.

In 1990, The band underwent their only personnel change and acquired Bruce Logan, semi-legendary drummer from Northern California. With the line-up complete, The Uninvited began playing around California and Arizona, developing a fanatical cult following and garnering rave reviews in the local press. Finally, in 1992 the group added Clay "Psycho" Goldstein, who according to BAM Magazine "can scare the cattle away" with his unorthodox harmonica playing.

Tired and frustrated with the creative meddling of a lethargic music industry (not to mention the fact that every A & R man with a checkbook was busy in Seattle signing anyone with a flannel shirt) The Uninvited decided to take matters into their own hands and created POP THIS, a compact disc featuring ten tracks produced by the band along with engineer Jim Wirt. From the banjo-powered folk-grunge of "Ordinary Man" to the psychedelic mind-feast of "Trick of the Light," POP THIS has more passion than a drunken fist fight and more hooks than the entire Norwegian fishing fleet. In January of 1993, the band released POP THIS on its own Roarshack Records label after securing distribution through Landmark. As a result, the band has sold over 5,000 copies after garnering radio play on over 128 stations nationwide.

Following the success of POP THIS, The Uninvited won "Best Acoustic Band" in MTV'S 1994 Beach House Band Search contest, and is now enjoying $10,000 in free equipment courtesy of MTV (though it should be noted that the band is primarily and electric outfit). The song which won the contest, "Successful Vegetarian," has since been released as a single on seven inch vinyl (remember records?), once again on their own Roarshack Records label. Currently, "Successful Vegetarian" is receiving airtime on over 50 college radio stations in the Southwest.

And now, The Uninvited has released their second full length CD, Too High, featuring their most requested new song, "Too High for the Supermarket." Despite their recorded success, the band's true reputation rests on its live show, which Venice Magazine calls "Overwhelming... Excellent... music you can dance your ass off to..."
