Chocolate Clavo's music is punky, thrashy, power pop. Even though the songs are pop structured, each part of the song, such as verse, bridge and chorus, has its own identity such as varying rythm, dynamic, or sound to keep the song interesting and always changing from one part to the next.
Chocolate Clavo's lyrics are anywhere from angry to fun sarcasm such as in Haunting O.J. or to deeper more personal or emotional feelings or thoughts such as in Dehydrate or Glass Jet . Some lyrics such as in Old Man are politically based but we try not to preach about things. We do not get trapped into any style as far as lyrics go. We write about anything that inspires us.
Chocolate Clavo was formed by Charles McFadden, who writes most of the music and lyrics and has been with the project from the beginning, which is about two and a half years ago. We were know as Thee Endorphins when we first started and then changed the name to Gnat. Thee endorphins and Gnat were both being used by other bands so we changed the name again to Chocolate Clavo. We have a Chihuahua named Clavo who's Chocolate colored and very cute and if we find out there's another Chocolate Clavo out there we quit!
We have been playing clubs in PA, NJ, and DE area for about two years. We prefer to use a drummer for our live performances but we are known to use a drum machine when we have to. We are working with a drummer now and he's very good so hopefully he will work out.

Charles McFadden:

25 years old, playing music for 16 years, writing music for about 8 years, took guitar and bass lessons 3-5 years each, 2 years of music theory, some voice training, writes poetry and lyrics. Likes writing music, snowboarding, aliens, making prank phone calls (especially to talk radio programs), body boarding / surfing, hating things, screwy movies like Arizona Dream, computers, X-files, and good food.

Krista Lipsi:

23 years old, playing bass for 3 years, writes poetry and lyrics, has written several songs. Likes singing, surfing, snowboarding, X-files, animals, traveling, and not working.
