SAMPLE MY SAUSAGE
To many people, ASF is a one-joke band that has outlived its usefulness. But to the rest, it's a band which is not afraid to laugh at itself. Since the days of the Batcave, ASF has continued on its own rickety path swinging from Goth to Techno rhythms. As for the songs themselves, they are light years away from being the typical doom laden dirges that we know and love from Goth bands. Once there was even a love song called 'I think I Love You'. Try it with a bunch of roses for that 'Alien effect'. Of course this was only a minor diversion before the Burger Bar Baby with the big boobies was back to sampling sausages.
Nik has the grand tradition of Music Hall flowing through his veins, and he sets out to entertain us in his own grisly way. A world where chaos reigns supreme. The Alien stage is populated with mutoid mannequins, skeletal constructions, a dustbin full of knick-knacks, a non-life size mouse costume and all this is smothered in healthy helpings of humour, as black and as sticky as molasses. Nik and the fiends deliver a two hour set of pumping music, during which they occasionally surface above the dry ice. Music is all. Not for them, the need for cheap token gestures. So don't go expecting a pig's innards to be hurtled into the audience or one of the band offering to have sex with a 'lucky' member from the Mosh pit.
Finally, never one for resting on their laurels, it's worth noting that ASF was the first band to create a complete soundtrack to a CD-ROM interactive game 'Inferno'. If you want to find out more about ASF, then I suggest you click (here) for their Home Site, or send them an email: bluecrumbtruck@asf-13thmoon.demon.co.uk.
And remember a Nik Fiend booby doll is not just for Halloween.
So in the words of our maker, Elvis - "Uh Oh Uh."
