You and you.
Slow succession, death’s parade
Only my heart died- that for one is true
In the spiraling midnights of love’s masquerade
Then again, I never knew
Big surprise that I jumped and flew
At every chance my courage grew
Until it hit me.
Me and my ideas.
Evil mind of mine
So much for thoughts to free us
Prisons-well, they don’t shine
But I still remembered the sun
Daylight is dangerous to those in the night
Light to a shadow is a gun
And so it seems at first to be so right
Until you realize
Realize its some phony game
Its only real why you’re still rolling the dice
A cheap romance under a nice pen-name
And you know that you always pay the price
For being a fool
For playing with the only fire wrapped in night’s embrace
The lovers never seemed to cool
That’s why you never look at thier face
I beg of you go ahead and believe
The things you do not know
Love is only a game of decieve
A game that will only grow
Addicts play until their cards are worn
Moves are shrewd
And hearts are shorn
For your soul there’s but one food
The rarest kind to find
Never let someone truly love you
Don’t even let them try
Unless you’re sure you can stay true
You’ll only make them cry
So pity, while you’re free
Castaways like me
Who can only hope for others- the light we didn’t see
