Objectives:
To provide further experiences in the linking of concept to materials/techniques.
Outline:
three problems will be completed during the semester. Bother advanced and intermediate students will be required to acomplish the first problem which deals with integrity of materials. After problem #1, the intermediate students are required to complete one problem from the syllabus and one problem of their choice. The personal choice problem must be proposed in typewritten form and accompanied by sketches. After problem #1, the advanced students are required to propse 2 problems of their choice. Due dates/crit days will be the same for everyone.
Each student will be expected to experience the following techniques/materials: Welding, metal casting, wood contruction, plaster casting, light gauge metal fabrication, and any others that are necessary to the particular concept
Field trips will occur at random.
Evaluation:
Three absences will result in being dropped from the class. Each of the 3 problems are considered to be 33% of the semester grade. Grading is based upon participation, willingness and enthusiasm, creative growth, class communication, and attitude.
