Black plastic with white lettering. It's exactly like the average controller design that comes with the regular system. If you have the black Playstation programmers use, the Yaroze, then it probably is the controller that comes with the system. (look to your game manual for details)

Problems

The directional buttons are individual buttons and are hard on a person's thumb. The other downfall is that you have to press two buttons for diagonal direction. Many pads have the directional buttons "fused" into a single button, making diagonal movement easier. This pad does not.
