Roxy Rumbles

ROXY (Roxanne Pelligrini)

Literally a girl "from the wrong side of the tracks" Roxy is a native of South Philadelphia and has always hungered for the better things in life. To spite her vigourous attempts in this endeavor, they can seemingly never be hers. Perhaps it's because she goes about trying to obtain them without actually working for them and prefers, instead, to bully and intimidate with the other Misfits.
Roxy dropped out of shool at a very early, and undisclosed age. Her family life remains a mystery, as well. This fact is not known among the other Misfits but it could be the reason for the developement of Roxy's harsh and somewhat cruel personality. Feelings of inadequacy and not being quite up to par in a lot of areas could have caused her to develop a hard shell around herself to protect herself.
Because she never finished school, she also never learned to read and has had quite a few problems because of it. Like almost every member of the Misfits, she left the group for a while to pursue her own career. She was quite successful in that she won a great sum of money in a local lottery upon returning to Philidelphia but her inability to read led her to misinterprete the contract and the terms of the lottery winnings. Again, broke and not knowing what else to do, Roxy returned to Pizzazz, the Misfits and her guitar.
Even though she lacks a formal education, somewhere along the way, she learned to play the guitar and can truly make the instrument speak!! One of the most talented among the Misfits, her confidence and self-assurredness brings her into conflict with Jetta and sometimes, Stormer but one thing is certain. Roxy is right where she belongs with the Misfits.
