Kimber Benton

"Make like a drum solo and beat it."

Kimber Benton, the spunky and often fiery keyboardist for the Holograms is the youngest daughter of inventor, Emmet and Jacqui Benton. Jacqui died when Kimber and her older sister, Jerrica, were both very young girls. During Kimber's early teen years, her father died, as well. Although it seemed that she dealt with the death of her parents fairly well, it wasn't until a Father's Day celebration that her true feelings were revealed.
She has since then dealt with that and matured quite well into quite a young woman.
On one occasion, however, feeling as if she wasn't being appreciated and always treated as if she were a second-rate musician in favor of Jem, Kimber left the Holograms to find where she might fit into the world. After an inpromptu performance with the Misfits' own, Stormer, Kimber was approached by a promoter to cut an album. She agreed and put up her half of Starlight Music in a deal with Can't Dance Music. It was through this deal that the album she cut with the Misfit's lyricist, Stormer, went platinum.
Soon after this success and heady with her own independance, Kimber became involved in a whirlwind romance with Brittish teen idol, Shawn Harrison and stuntman, Jeff Conley. Jeff, thinking Kimber was serious about him and unaware of Shawn, asked the youngest Benton to marry him. She accepted but after a while and some serious consideration, called it off. Both relationships are on again, off-again.
Young Kimber has been called the soul of the Holograms, as her youth and vitality is very much a driving force behind the group. Besides her musical talent on keys, Kimber's lyrics are strong and driving and give the perfect expression for the message of JEM. It was the younger Ms. Benton that first coined the phrase that would both epitomize and perfectly express what it was to be a Hologram..."Truly Outrageous"!
