Clash was born Constance Montgomery, cousin to Vivian "Video" Montgomery. Even as a child, Constance was always in the shadow of her cousin. Vivian's creative genius was evident at a young age and the rivalry between the two began.
Constance's father does nothing to ease the tension. At every chance, he down's Vivian's success in favor of his daughter. Perhaps this is where the tension stems, in part.
Clash has many talents but no real outlet for them. She is a near expert at voice mimicry, a true make-up artist and quite an actress, it seems. She has managed to successfully impersonate JEM and was convincing as a girl named "Sarah" in which she earned the trust of JEM and the Holograms in order to shoot a disasterous "home video" type documentary of the Holograms at their worst.
To spite this, Clash has tried, in vain, to become a member of the Misfits. It would appear, that she has made this her mission in life, to spite the talent she possesses. She feels that by belonging to this particular group, that she will have found a place where she truly is a part of something. Sadly, she doesn't realize that she is the only one that can provide the solidity of person that she needs to be complete. In the meantime, the Misfits continue to exploit Clash.
