It's a Spring Break party after college finals are over. Send out a May Day Gay Day siren song out to all the Tampa Bay "pirates" for a day of cool waves, slides, and volleys.
Share the park with your friends and family in a relaxed atmosphere, free of the usual fear of holding hands, hugging and other affectionate behaviors usually restricted to heterosexuals in public. Red is the primary color. If you have rainbow gear, bring it! You can be competitive on the volleball courts, which host national volleyball championship games. Volleyballs are provided, just bring your ID. You'll need the ID anyway, because next to the courts is a food bar, complete with Anheuser-Busch beers. Wear red swim trunks or suits. Most guys wear squarecuts or trunks and gals tend to wear one-piece suits. Some of the slides may give you a wedgee or worse if you do not. T-backs and such are not legal to wear in public in Hillsborough County. HRC= or "Vote, I do" shirts , Equality Florida= shirts, red tanks or T's to Adventure Island on May Day Gay Day. Support the International Gay Rodeo Association sponsor by wearing a Bud Light "Alternative" rainbow logo T-shirt.
