Hey i met everclear, this was in fact the best day of my life and i owe it all to Chris, for those of you who haven't heard this story a million times, er have and just wanna here it again cuz its sooo goood read on, those of you who don't the pictures r here at the bottom,
Take me back to the day, yeah when i was still your golden boy back before you went away, are some of the lyrics form the ever so popular everclear song "father of mine", Well of course, this song was played the day Art was going to be on X103.9 (they didn't have it before that mornning shhhhh)morning show with lisa, he came on and he said that he was going to be playing a show at doheny state beach, this is good because it is at the beach and there is an awesome camp ground there and stuff. Well ne ways after the interview i got my ass on the phone to call my mom who was in huston at the time visting her sister so i called my mom and told her, then she said make resevations at the camp ground, this i did, but i still didn't have tickets, my mom said we could just "sneak in", but i knew this wasn't going to work
As the show grew closer and i still didn't have tickets i began to worry, like a true everclear fan would, then i heard, the song father of mine begin to play on the radio, and the little promo anocing it as the song of the week, this got me very happy cuz when this happens they give away tickets, and thats how i got to see my first everclear show, well a few days later in that week, me and becky where up really late,, and of course father of mine starts playing, we know the song after one beat, and begin to call sure enough becky was caller ten.
the night before the show i could hardly sleep, my head full with visions of art up on stage, signing filled my head. i than had no idea how many of my dreams would come true (not the one with me and him hrmmm on stage)..
Since it was an all day show, i got up really eary and we headed over the montain to the beach, it was a beautiful day in late september, as you can tell in the pictures,,
When we get there a band called 5th gear was on stage one they where okay, although i didn't watch them, the next band was on stage 2, and they were the hiders. and man r they a cute bunch of guys man, and really good at music too, then on stage one orangmen were playing and i really didn't want to see them too much so i went exploring, were i found a virgin records both where they had the everclear lunch cd's, so i was like dude cool, but i didn't have ne cash, so i couldn't get one, then i went back to stage two where SONICHROME was getting ready to play, little did i know this was the band that was gonna change my whole life, so i went with my mom back to the car,
when we got back sonichrome was already playing so i thought he these people r really kewl, and i got into there set, and then they played that song "honey please" i have liked that song since the first time i had ever heard it, so i was like all happy, there were only about 150 people watching sonichrome play most of who were just sitting on the grass... well after they where done i asked the signer for a play list and if he could sign it, he wasl ike shure ne thing for you and he just came down off the stage, and i started talking to him, turned out that he really likes everclear too, infact Art was the guy who got him his record deal, well he had to get going because he had to go to his brothers weddign so i asked him for his backstage pass.,. and he gave it to me! WOW huh???,
When i got back stage of course everclear wasn't even there yet so i was like okay and then i found this really bitchy girl that i really don't like and was like look i have a back stage pass, and she didn't believe me, so like walked over to the back stage door and walked in it was awesome, its always fun to rub stuff like that into to really mean peoples faces, by this time dog star was just finishing up on stage one, and the next 3 bands to play there where 7 mary 3, royal crown revue, and EVERCLEAR, but of course there were other bands playing on stage two inbetween, so me becky stephanie my mom , and these two really kewl chicks i met while i waas there Julie and Jamie made our way to the very front and center of the stage, then we took turns going back stage to meet everclear, it was great! then julie was going to have her turn and the stupid securidy gard took away our pass, but it was okay, cuz right then everclear was signing stuff over at the virgin record booth, with all the comomtion i "taxed" a lunch cd, and had everclear sign it, and thats when i asked art if i could kiss him, he said yes, and i kissed his right cheek, it was the greatest, his cheek was sooo soft, well then ne ways, we went back and no one was at stage one cuz there was a band playing at stage 2 and like everclear signing stuff, so we got right in the front and stayed there though everclear, and art sang too me like the whole show it was the greatest, you have no idea, *smiles* okay thats it,
