Scuba Diving

SCUBA diving is one of those things that most people would like to try at least once during their life, but few actually do.  I first became interested in scuba diving after going snorkelling in the Bahamas in 1993.  Swimming in the crystal clear turquoise waters next to the tour boat, I watched in awe as hundred of beautiful multicolored fish swam gracefullly around me as the tour guide threw food out to them.   Silently observing them swim through the sponges and plants of the coral reef was like beings in an entirely different universe.  I knew right then and there that I would be back.  Unfortunately, the next time I went to the Carribean, the waters were too rough, and the dive boats were not operating.
I thought about taking a scuba diving course countless times after returning home, but I didn't realize they offered them here in the maritimes.  Finally, after being encouraged to try it by several people I know who are certified, I located a dive center near my house and signed up for a PADI open water diver course.  I could hardly wait for it to start.  I must admit, the classes are a bit challenging, but extremely rewarding. From the first time I donned my equipment, took the plunge and began breathing underwater, I was ecstatic.   So far I have only had four pool classes, but I know I'm going to love it once we get out in the open water. I would stronly encourage anyone who loves to swim, who likes marine life, or who simply enjoys a good adreneline rush to take a course.  For more information about diving, check out these links:
