Chapter One
Her silver Passat flew past the guards because her pass allowed her to. She was late again, but this time she had a huge order and the Dunkin Donuts people didn’t know how to hurry up. She sighed as she opened her window and sang along to her favorite group, the Backstreet Boys, as the CD player played the CD. Her light brown-layered hair flew around her as she sped through the long backstage parking lot. Her Oakley sunglasses hid her shinning bright blue eyes. Today was a special group whom no one told her who it was. There was a huge silver tour bus parked, blocking the entrance she had to go to. She slammed on the breaks, being careful of the 20 special coffees in her passenger side. “Shit!” She exclaimed. She threw open her door and ran to the bus, her hair running freely and her black skinny-strapped tank moved with her body. The driver was there, she took her glasses off and placed them on her head, revealing her beautiful eyes. “Hi. I am Juliet Peterson. I need to get pass this bus. You see that car over there? That is mine. It is holding 20 cups of coffee for the group whose bus this probably is. So could you PLEASE either back this up into the spot or just move it all together?” She exclaimed, not taking any breaths.
“When do you breathe girl?” A mans voice floated to the front. She
looked up the isle but saw nothing.
“Of course, I’ll back it up. Until you can get by.” The bus driver
said.
“Thank you very much. I’m late as it is.” Juliet sighed in relief.
She jumped off the bus, throwing her sunglasses back on and ran back to her car,
her legs moving twice as fast as before and her ID tag was being thrown around
her neck. It was 7 in the morning and she was here. She got paid great money, so
this would help with paying off college loans. She put the car in drive and
inched toward the area where she could drive through. First she made sure there
were no cars in the spots and then floored it past the bus. She made a sharp
right turn to avoid hitting a car. Her parking space was open and she parked it
perfectly in the spot. She switched it into park and took the key out of the
ignition. She ran out of her door and opened the passenger side, taking the
radio control from a nearby guard and patched in that she need a few people to
car in the cups of coffee. The answer she got back was to do it herself. She
sighed and picked up a box from the ground and started to put the coffee in
there. It all fit in the box. She took her book bag purse and threw it on her
back. She placed her leopard print cowboy hat and placed it on her head, moving
her glasses into her book bag. She placed the box on the ground, locked the
doors and shut the door of her car, first making sure her keys were in her
pocket. She counted to 2 and picked up the very heavy box and carried it through
the doors that the guard held open for her. She quickened her pace and got to
the main table for food. She started unloading the already labeled coffees. She
took the 5 that were for the group and headed to the office to check in and get
the room number for the band. She checked in, got a walkie-talkie and her
manager told her room 2. She made her way to the room. She was about to open the
door when the door swung open, hitting her in the face but not touching the
coffee. “OWWWWWWWW!” Someone instantly took the coffee from her hands and
another person caught her before she could fall to the ground. “Lovely day.”
She mumbled before fainted.
5 minutes later, she woke up. “Are you alright?” A concerned voice
said.
“Yea, no thanks to the dumbass who swung open the door.” She
muttered. She didn’t open her eyes but she knew she was lying on someone’s
lap.
Another man chuckled and said, “That’s my cousin for ya.” He had an
accent.
“Thanks, cous.” Another man said, with the same accent.
An ice pack was put on her forehead as she heard the loudspeaker go off.
“Paging Ms. Juliet Peterson.”
“God, I love this job.” She muttered and finally opened her eyes.
“OMG. I take that back. I mean it in a good way.” She stuttered as she
recognized all the faces in the room. The guys chuckled to see this girl stammer
at who she was with. “How was the coffee?” She asked, kind of shyly.
“Cold.” Brian muttered, angrily.
“I suppose you were the one who hit me? Huh?” She asked. Howie helped
her up and she thanked him. She saw AJ on the floor, where she once laid.
“Yea. And I'm happy to have done it.” Brian said.
Juliet stopped in her tracks. “What?” She spun around. “It was your
tour bus that blocked me from getting here and then you slam a door into my
face? And I suppose because you are famous that you think that you can treat
anyone below you like shit. Well, I have something to tell you. I DON’T THINK
SO! I WORK MY ASS OFF IN THIS PLACE TO PAY OFF COLLEGE LOANS! I DON’T HAVE A
SUPERIOR JOB THAT I WANT, YES I WANT THE LIFESTYLE YOU HAVE, OF TOURING AND
SINGING FOR FUN! AND YOU ARE HAPPY TO HAVE DONE IT? WELL, I HOPE YOU ENJOY
THIS!” With that she grabbed her hat, dusted off her black pants and grabbed
her bookbag. She opened the door and slammed it very hard. Once again, she was
paged. She turned on her walkie-talkie and hit the button to talk.

(Back
with the guys.)
“I can't believe you slammed the door into her face. You are so lucky
her nose didn’t break.” AJ exclaimed.
“Yea, what is up with this mean-streak, Brian? First this morning with
Frick, now Juliet.” Kevin said.
“What the f*ck do you mean mean-streak? I am perfectly normal. I am the
same Brian as was before.” Brian answered.
“No, you’re not.” Howie said. “I know what happened.”
Brian shot him a glance and Nick’s head sprung up from the palms of his
hands. “What the f*ck you don’t know what happened.”
“Yes, I do Brian. I heard the screaming in the hotel last night.
Everyone was gone and I came back because I didn’t feel well. You didn’t
know it and I was next door trying to get some sleep when you started screaming.
I heard it all.” Howie said.
The other three sat there, bewildered. Brian knew he better tell the
guys, so he began. “Well….”

(back
with Juliet)
“Yes, Ma’am. I know I was late. I had over 20 orders of coffee and I
wasn’t expecting everything to go so slow. The BSB tour bus blocked me from
getting here.” Juliet started as she walked into the office.
“Yes, that was reported. That isn’t why I called you here.” Juliet
looked at her. “Today you are the lucky announcer for the show. You introduce
the opening act and then The Backstreet Boys.” Juliet was in awe. Mrs. K
handed her another ID tag for the day that told everyone she was the announcer.
“OMG. I..I .. I can't believe this.” Juliet said.
“We all knew they were your favorite, so we were going to surprise you but you delivered the coffee and from what I see,” she glanced at the ice package in Juliet’s hand. “Didn’t go very well.”
“What made you think that?” Juliet joked as she felt herself get angry again.
Her boss laughed along and added, “You will go out with the boys today for lunch and get to know them. I hint: bring a camera. You’ll never know what happens.”
“OMG! THANK YOU SO MUCH!” Juliet hugged her boss.
“What did happen if you don’t mind.”
“Oh, Brian swung opened the door, hit me in the face and I fainted. Then he was being all conceited.”
“Soon we are going to have a daytime soap on our hands.”
“Shh you.” Juliet joked. “Thanks again.” With that Juliet ran out.

All the guys sat there, amazed by what Brian had told them. “Wow. I am so sorry, man. Do you have the ring or did you return it?” Nick asked.
“I still have it. Here.” Brian took it out of his pocket, opened the box, revealing a diamond ring. “I might as well keep it incase I need it for someone else after awhile.” The guys agreed and were amazed by the diamond.
“So that’s it. No more Leighanne?” Howie asked.
“No more.” Brian said sadly.
“I’m sorry to say this but it's for the best, Bri. We all saw something strange in her.” Howie said.
“I should have listened to you guys. I’m really sorry for not listening to you.” Brian apologized.
