Kobie's Page
Kobie and I are getting the hang of each other.  Things were pretty rough the first few weeks home but now at almost 3 months, we have settled into somewhat of a routine.  Kobie is a pretty good baby.  He has a few problems such as reflux, and an allergy to baby oatmeal.  He is also on Zantac for his reflux.
Kobie is usually pretty happy except when he doesn't get his way.  Even at 3 months he knows what he wants and won't hesitate to throw a fit if he doesn't get it as you can see in this picture.
Kobie is also a little flirt.  The first time he gave a real smile was when I went for my post-partum checkup.  All the nurses were standing around his carseat saying how cute he was and he smiled for them.  Ever since then he loves smiling.  He is starting to make sounds now and knows exactly how to get your attention.  I could sit for hours making goo-goo sounds with him.  We laugh alot.  He's probably laughing at me instead of with me.  No telling what I am saying to him in baby language.  Adults are so entertaining.
Well, this is just the beginning.  I found that I am addicted to taking pictures of Kobie so I will be adding more as I take them.
I never knew how much work it was to take care of a baby but I wouldn't give him up for the world.  Check back soon for more pictures and updates on how Kobie is doing, and for all of our upcoming adventures.
The story of Kobie's Arrival
Kobie's due date was January 15, 2005.  He decided that was too long to wait.  Here is the story of how it happened.
On December 28th, Adam came home from work and was in a picking mood.  I was tired and not really feeling good so I was a bit grumpy.  He was playing around and poked me with a fork and I got really upset.  Pregnancy hormones I guess.  Adam got upset because I was upset and he decided to go into the extra bedroom and watch tv.  I decided to go take a shower to calm myself down.  After getting out of the shower and drying off, I was about to finish getting dressed when I felt like I had peed on myself.  I knew I still had about 2 weeks till my due date and didn't really think it was my water that had broken.  This was about 9PM.  Around 11 my tummy started hurting a little but again, I didn't think it was anything serious.  Around 11:30 I decided to go to bed.  Adam was still in the extra bedroom so I went to lay down in my bed.  Along the way, for some reason, I decided to tell Adam about the peeing incident just incase something happened in the middle of the night.  Didn't want him to be totally unprepared.  He decided that he wasn't taking the chance of me having Kobie at home and just to be on the safe side we were going to go to the hospital to have me checked out.  I only grabbed my bag with a few changes of clothes because I was so sure it was nothing and they would send me back home.  When I got there, they checked and to my surprise, it was my water that had broken.  I was in labor for 22 1/2 hours.  I slept through alot of it.  The only time I remember waking up was when my waterbag broke completely.  Not the most pleasant experience.  That's when the contractions started getting bad.  I did have an epidural and thank God because I don't think I could have done it without one.  Around 6PM on the 29th after dilating no more than 3cms, my doctor decided that I should have a C-Section.  So needless to say, Kobie was born at 7:25 PM on December 29th and we were able to bring him home on New Years Eve.  It's been fun, fun, fun, ever since.
