Music, Midis and Memories
"I think that music is the only sensual pleasure without vice"
Samuel Johnson (1709-1784)
English poet and lexicographer

Music evokes memories and feelings more easily than any other
art form and whilst a vision may be hidden in the subconscience
for many years it can soon be brought back to mind and bring a
smile to the lips on hearing a familiar melody. Here are the
owners of some of my favourite memories, together with a
selection of midi and sound sites.

LoadsaLaughs
"Laugh and the world laughs with you"
Ella Wheeler Wilcox (1855-1919)
American Poet

Laughter is renowned as the medicine that can cure all ills.
Here you will find links to some of the medications that restore
my health whenever I feel under par or in the need of a tonic.

Pressies and Postcards
"Presents, I often say, endear absents"
Charles Lamb (1775-1834)
English writer

Forget the saying that there is no such thing as a free lunch....
here you can find everything from a pizza to an ice-cream - all
waiting for you to have them home-delivered at no cost through
Cyberspace. For those more romantic moments toss away the stomach
gratifiers and feed the heart with virtual flowers, kisses and
hugs - all delivered within moments to object of your affections.

England - Land of My Birth
"Be England what she will - with all her faults,
she is my country still"
Charles Churchill (1731-1764)
English poet

No matter how long I stay away from England it will always be
the home to which I will one day return. It's people, it's humour
and its heritage are, to some extent, displayed on this page. Please
excuse the excessive patriotism and sentimentalism displayed here,
but I still love the country with a passion. On a lighter note -
don't forget to visit some of the more sacrilegious Royal sites
which are linked here.

A Taste of Oz
"I love her far horizons - I love her jewel sea
Her beauty and her terror- the wide brown land for me"
Dorothea McKellar
Australian writer

Australia! Not the land of my birth - but the home of my choice.
Take a virtual trip around this bold and beautiful country and
learn a little of the history and culture, sights and sounds, of
this wonderful land down under.

A little bit of Culture
"We all know that art is not truth. Art is a lie that
makes us realise the truth"
Pablo Picasso (1881-1973
Spanish painter

Time and cost prevent many of us visiting the wonders of the
great art collections of the world. Here you can meander through
these galleries and gardens without ever leaving the comfort of
your home or computer.

Chataholics Group
"I cannot hold with those who wish to put down
the insignificant chatter of the world"
Anthony Trollope (1815-1882)
English novelist

In January 1997 I discovered the new world of Cyberland and, as a
result, have made friends with people from many nations. Some of
us, however, have developed an addiction for which there seems no
cure, and, in an attempt to offer them assistance, I have formed
this Self-Help group, consisting of a delightful group of
selfless people who are always ready and willing to give their
time to meet with each other in a Chat room to discuss their
fight against this affliction. I thank them all for their
friendship, their love and their support.

Home Help Services
"One thing we can do is to make wherever we're
lost in look as much like home as we can"
Christopher Fry (1907-)
English playwright

Would you like to make a HomePage for yourself, but think that it
would all be beyond you? This page will have you transformed
from a virtual computer illiterate to a proud Home Owner with
neither cost nor pain in no time at all. If, however, you still
have problems after reading this - why not pop into a chat room
and ask someone who has already built a home for themselves for
some help? In my experience, everyone is always more than willing
to share their knowledge and expertise.

Naughty Quotes
"Man is the only animal that blushes. Or needs to!"
Mark Twain (1835-1910)
American writer

Spice up your instant repartee with some of the quotes of the
irrepressible and incorrigible Queen of the one-liners - Mae West.

More Naughty Quotes
"A little she strove, and much repented,
And whispering, "I'll ne'er consent......consented!"
Lord Byron (1788-1824)
English Poet

More naughty little quotes from a variety of sources to drop into
your conversation - all guaranteed to cause a raised eyebrow, a
winkle in the eye and a wicked grin.

Computer Verse
"To err is human but to really foul things up requires a computer"
Farmers Almanac 1978

Not a site dedicated to the finer points of poetry - but a
collection of verses which many strike a note with all those who
encounter either the ocassional bout of anger and frustration as
their computer seems to take on a mind of its own or suffer from
the affliction of an addiction to it.

Kids Links
"It should be noted that children at play are not
playing about; their games should be seen as their
most serious-minded activity"
Michel Eyquem de Montaigne (1533-1592)

Our children are growing up in a world which relies more and more
on the use of technology. For them to succeed and be a part of that
world they must be competent and at ease in their use of computers.
Here is a huge selection of links to sites that children of all
ages should find of interest, assistance, education and fun which
will help them to become computer literate in an enjoyable way.

You're Getting Old When....
"Youth, which is forgiven everything, forgives itself nothing;
age, which fogives itself everything, is forgiven nothing."
George Bernard Shaw (1856-1950)

Growing old is, unfortunately, inevitable and we all have to face
it sooner or later. Looking out for these symptoms of aging
however, may assist you to delay the process by denying their
onset and continuing to claim a love of all those things revered
by the younger generation. Be careful though - too much laughter
may increase and deepen those wrinkles!!!!!

Here are some of the places I have found in my travels through Cyberspace that have either brought a smile to my face or some knowledge to my brain.

I do hope you found something here of
interest and that you enjoyed!
Please visit again soon as further pages will be
added when spare time and inspiration coincide.
